New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
It's not as problematic as it seems. If you have any strong magnetic devices, simply don't store them near the Kestrel.
Since I've removed the RifleKuhl from my pack, I've yet to have a single issue. The issue is one that can happen to ANY device that tracks magnetic North. Haven't...
Personally, for match shooting, there is not better setup than an RCX with a Waxed GC with a bit of extra sand. It's INSANELY stable. Good choice IMHO... Pint size is also very good as well.
Haven't talked to them in a while. They did redesign the crown/cap section I believe but not sure on gas block. My sample of 2 barrels were very accurate but they required a slightly lighter bullet or lighter charge than bolt gun with se chamber (fairly common in my experience). My 6.5 CM...
I posted earlier thread about Dracos 22" Creedmoor barrel but I've been feeling like I never gave it a fair shake for you guys. I tested only two factory ammo types and only a small set of handloads (ELDM) with Varget, not to mention mixed lots of...
Have used it all year; love it. They also added the RailChanger X as @Skunkworx mentioned. Both systems have their place but I've become very attached to the RCX system. Still have both but a large GC (adding 2-3lbs of play sand) with RCX is about as stable as it gets for nontraditional...
I've kept mine away from magnets and electronics of all sorts (including my phone) for the last 2-3 weeks and it seems to be holding a decent calibration.
There seems to be a persistent issue with not detecting rotation and therefore not calibrating, but I'm very suspicious that it could be...
Good timing. I think for entry level PRS/Spotting binos, it's hard to be the value of the Vultures. They are $500 and have enough clarity and resolution to spot trace cleaning to 600-800yds. However, I would say that the Bushnell Forge is certainly a significant step up in resolution for only...
Just put on a new ER Shaw barrel for the RPR... Night and day difference over factory barrel. Have about 400 rounds through it today both breaking in and group testing.
Factory barrel shot okay (.6-1" 5 and 10 shot groups and depending on ammo) this...
Here's a fix to calibrate the compass if it's being picky.
Updated to firmware 1.27 and immediately afterwards, I had issues with my compass calibration not working no matter what I try: slow, fast, slow/fast turns, nada. All variations would not...
Another guy had this happen a few months back... Turned out he was shooting the wrong target and it was a about 50 yards closer than he thought.
While it's not inconceivable that you could pick up 50-100fps due to a combination of factors, 200fps seems a bit much unless everything swings in...
Bennet, you have any data on 105 hybrids and distance to lands using Area 419s reamer? Have a barrel coming with same reamer and trying to get ahead of curve with some break in loads. Trying to get the oal of 105s touching and at ogive (using Hornady comparator #2 for the .243).
And if you've...
Anyone here have a .090 freebore with 1-30 lead angle in a 6XC II and shoot 105 Hybrids? I'm looking for the approximate OAL and base to Ogive measurements. Barrel is in process and trying to make some break-in loads while I have time.
Math says it should be around 2.01 to 2.1 to the bearing...
Whose running the truck? You, Chris, Zack or Bryan?
Looking forward to seeing it at some matches! Do you have an event list you can post?
Thanks Doc!

I solved the loose follower by making a plug of JB Steelstick on the end and sanding it down until it had .010 clearance. But you're right ... Way easier to simply buy a new mag(s).
You won't catch me tearing any more plates out... Faster, more reliable and easier to buy.
If you go slow and are careful with a Dremel, you can grind out the weld from the inside of magazine until you just break through to the actual magazine body. To be clear, I am saying grind the spot weld from inside (on the binder plate) until the diameter of the welded dot is down to the...
So was going to post pics of a Lyman vs the Teslong, but frankly there is no comparison: the Teslong is faster, longer, more flexible (good and bad), has MUCH higher resolution/clarity and cheaper...
The only advantage to the Lyman is that it is very simple to use and has a ruler on the camera...
