    If I'm basing myself for a week or so in the north country, I like a floor less teepee with one of them ultralight Ti stove/vents. I've also built myself a basic snow cave on occasion. I use evergreen boughs, a mat, and a Western Mountaineering down blanket in either shelter.

    You & me both; no matter how much I abuse the tin cloth jacket & brush pants they barely wear out, and when they fray, I just have tin cloth strips cover the frays. That twill is about double the thickness of tin cloth, and is water resistant. I end up using tin cloth wax on the twill anyway...

    New guy planning a rifle

    A tweaked AAC was one of my favorite rigs. Once I'd changed the trigger, bedded into a stock that I liked much more, and fitted a bottom metal/trigger guard that didn't break on me. Loved SMK in 168, 175 & 190 flavors.
