Load development in a gas gun

Great looking groups. Gives me hope for my gasser and the fact that I might be able to get low numbers as well. What's your plans to push the 130s so fast? I'm considering trying the 123s and 130s for speed as well.
  2. EscapeVelocity

Load development in a gas gun

I'm really intrigued by the 123 grain bullets and trying to generate as much speed as I can with them. I may try the Sierras or Lapuas.

Load development in a gas gun

I made those 80 rounds at 41.4 of H4350 at 2.800, so they may shoot decent for break in rounds.

Load development in a gas gun

That's very good to know! I may have to get with you if I run into problems. If this psa barrel won't shoot, I'll be looking for a barrel, and trying to keep it on the shorter side at around 18".
  5. EscapeVelocity

Load development in a gas gun

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for, and wouldn't have thought of it. I'm currently running a .2625 mandrel for neck tension and see how that does, if not what do you recommend? Also should I not worry about shutting off the gas to develop a load?
  6. EscapeVelocity

Load development in a gas gun

Yea I'll be testing function in that first 80. After that I'll be using lapua brass, h4350, cci 450s, and 140 Elds.

Load development in a gas gun

So I have one of the PSA Sabres m110 ish in 6.5 Creed on the way. I have about 80 rounds to run through it as a break in, then I will start load development. I've not done a real load development in a semi auto so my question: since it's easy to turn off and on with this rifle, should I turn it...

    PSA M110 clonish rifle

I mean if it doesn't shoot that well, I picked up an AR10 for $1000 (minus the bag, bipod, and mags) that the barrel can easily be swapped out.... I didn't see a downside. I'm not after a clone.

    PSA M110 clonish rifle

Anyone who bought one have an update on how it shoots? I have a forged 6.5 Creed on the way and plan to work up a load after 100 rounds.

    MK12 (ish) 6.5 Creed Build

I would pick one of those PSA Sabers up if they were in stock.
  11. EscapeVelocity

    MK12 (ish) 6.5 Creed Build

That's a good possibility of what I may do. I can always add the parts I want to it if it does well enough. The other part is settling for what I don't really want and end up selling it under a year. I'm glad to hear your having good luck with what you have!
  12. EscapeVelocity

    MK12 (ish) 6.5 Creed Build

It really is the look and the performance of the larger caliber of 6.5CM. I'm not going to use the "correct optics" or really anything other than the handguard, top rail, and flip up sight. Mod 0 is the look I'm after, it's just not the caliber I want. The 6 arc is appealing for regular frame...

    MK12 (ish) 6.5 Creed Build

I'm pretty sure that I'm going with the Criterion, and not the Wilson combat. So I should be good with what I have?
  14. EscapeVelocity

    MK12 (ish) 6.5 Creed Build

My buddy has a full Wilson Combat build and it's great with factory ammo. I still like the 18" to keep that feel I think. I'll take a little velocity reduction.
  15. EscapeVelocity

    MK12 (ish) 6.5 Creed Build

So I really love these mk12s, but would love to see it in a bigger 6.5 Creed for the ballistics. So I thought, why not build one since I have a bonus check to spend.. super responsible. I've found a similar build on here: It really looks awesome, especially since it's in a 6.5 Creed. I...
