    Concentricity Observations

I plan to look at the neck runout again after firing and following FL resizing. Then I will look at runout when they are next loaded. More data to follow! Ideas and thoughts are encouraged.

    Wyoming vs Idaho

It’s an urban vs. rural dichotomy and it only looks to get worse for the conservative rural areas. I honestly never thought I would see the day when Arizona would elect a lesbian socialist to the US senate, but here we are.

Ah, just noticed that you had the problem with factory smmo too, disregard. A puzzle to be sure. I will be very interested to know what you learn from this.

Have you checked COAL ? Perhaps something happened to the seating die and you are now jamming bullets?

    Gunsmithing Misfire Diagnosis Help Needed

Got my bolt back today. I can’t say enough about the great treatment I received from Joel at Curtis Custom. I’ll be at the range Saturday with my grandson to check it out, set up the scope, and continue load workup. I’ll report on the results thereafter. Thanks again to everyone who contributed...

    Gunsmithing Misfire Diagnosis Help Needed

Well the Federal 205 primers have so far all fired, but honestly it seems to me that a $3000 rifle ought to shoot any legit primer I load so I can see what gives me the best results. Good to know that some have found the Rem 7 1/2 to be another choice though.

    Gunsmithing Misfire Diagnosis Help Needed

Thank you JPL-ATX. I will contact Joel. MPA may need to make arrangements for the replacements. In the meanwhile I started using Federal 205 primers and have not had a problem with them. My trigger is a TriggerTech.

    Gunsmithing Misfire Diagnosis Help Needed

OK. The setback I posted earlier was from the Bergara chamber, since I already had rounds loaded for that rifle I used breaking in the new MPA. I just measured the base to shoulder datum distance for the rounds actually fired in the MPA and got 1.559 +/- < .001 in. So the setback for the MPA is...

    Gunsmithing Misfire Diagnosis Help Needed

So here is some additional data. The base to shoulder datum measurement taken on 5 Hornady rounds (140 gr ELD-M) is 1.551 in +/- .001 in. The base to shoulder datum measurement on my reloads is 1.557 in +/- less than .001 in. So my reloads actually have .006 less headspace than the factory...

    Gunsmithing Misfire Diagnosis Help Needed

I have a new 6.5 CM MPA build (planning to talk with them tomorrow) that is misfiring on 1/3 of my handloads. These are loads that have never misfired in my Bergara. They consist of Lapua brass, fired 3-4X, fully resized .005 shorter on headspace than post firing and within spec. Case length is...

    Wind speed calculator

The hold calculated per Skookum is correct, however, the 3mph wind estimate is incorrect. It should be the 10.2 mph.... or I am down the same rabbit hole.

Anyone shooting Flatline in MPA 6.5 CM

I’m considering an MPA 6.5 CM prospective build. Has anyone using this rifle shot Flatline projectiles from it? I’m interested in cartridge OAL / seating depth, and any experience with problems (or lack of problems) feeding from the mag with bullets seated to longer than 2.82 OAL. Thanks for...

    Rifle Scopes Revic Calibration

Having failed to find any reviews that talked about tracking and calibration of the Revic PMR 428, I fabricated a stable off-rifle mounting platform and went to the range today. I set up a commercial calibrated target at 100 yards. As currently set up I have 47 moa of up adjustment available. I...

Labradar Blue Tooth app is out

Just thought I would add an observation. When I first tried using my Labradar with an up to date iPhone I had repeated disconnection problems and failures to reconnect. I discovered that these problems were related to my bluetooth Fitbit. When I killed the Fitbit bluetooth connection to the...

    Rifle Scopes Revic Scope deal

Ordered mine on Oct 8 and received it Oct 18. Took 5 days to get it shipped 3 day shipping via FEDEX. There were 8 available when I ordered, 4 today. I do understand that some folks have not had positive experiences with OP. I have made a half dozen orders and have been satisfied every time...
