10x will be enough magnification to hit out to 1k. If your set on a higher magnification the new Leupold FFPs are pretty nice from what I hear. Mike w/ CSTactical did a review on his website.

Rail mounting an iphone seems like a bad idea. Why dont you just print out range cards for each rifle and take known data?

My SPS Tactical at 200ft elevation at 300 yards drops 11.5 inches. Look up jbm ballistics and put your info in to get a rough idea of your come ups.
