Question about Hbn bullets in melonited barrels

Well, it's going to be a while before I get to try them out, I guess we'll see then. I do have a good selection of other bullets. Thanks for the info.

Question about Hbn bullets in melonited barrels

Has anyone that has used this combination noticed any negative accuracy as compared to "normal" jacketed bullets? I have a stainless 18" 6.5 Grendel AR build that shoots in the 6's with Speer 120 Gold Dots. I have spoken to Speer and they say that the 120 Gold Dot bullet is factory hbn coated...

Redding die problem, can I salvage the brass?

Late to this little jamboree, but it doesn't even look like the right die, shoulder angle doesn't look right.

    Lost Comparator insert

I asked Hornady awhile back, they said .257 edit: I just measured mine, it's .256

    Rcbs decap die

Mine does it too, unless I use it in my Forster press. In the Rockchucker the primers zing halfway to Japan, each one taking a different route.

    Cleaning primer pockets

Not for the first few loads, but I like clean pockets in general, so I clean them anyway.

RCBS chargemaster or Redding Match Grade 3BR?

I have used that trick before, but now I use my Chargemaster. While it is dispensing, I am seating.

    Velocity change with Varget

During the "Great Varget Shortage" that is what I wound up doing, it worked out fine for me. 8lb'ers now.

    6.5 Grendel

I have had good results with CFE223 and 8208XBR under 123 SST's. CFE223 under 129ABLR. I have been developing all of my loads with CCI 450's and Rem 7.5's. Go up in no more than 3/10ths increments. High strung little cartridge, but seems to perform all out of proportion to it's size. My bbl. is G2

    Help with AR15 Load

I neglected to add this to my earlier post, but another load that works very well in my 1989 Colt AR is a max load of 2000MR with the Hornady 75bthp. It shoots 1" or less out of my rifle at 100 yds, haven't had time to try it further yet but I expect it to do well.

    Help with AR15 Load

Reading around on other forums, XBR seems to have a tendency to be "spiky" at or very near top loads. I have not personally observed this, just goes to show that rifles are different, work up and watch your (br)ass.

    Grain weight accuracy

Snag yourself a set of RCBS check weights, the confidence they give you is worth the cost. I use a Chargemaster with a 10-10 for cross check. Make yourself a leveling plate for your beam scale, goes a long way toward consistent accuracy. Keep your balance points clean with de-natured...

Need a new reloading kit! Everything for extreme LRS!

I can easily feel when a primer is seated when using my CO-AX. as noted above, much better with die out. I happen to prefer Forster Dies, but the Redding and RCBS are also great dies. CO-AX is hands down the best of my three presses. I am not a fan of Lee products, or of Richard Lee. All out...

    Help with AR15 Load

24.8 R15, 7-1/2 primer, LC case, 69 SMK, 2.255. An excellent load in my Colt 20" 1-7. The 24.8 load doesn't seem to be particularly primer sensitive.
