    Help with my Enfield

My apologies, I misread the first number as part of the stamp... Your’s would have been from the first batch (PF 118000 - PF 217999), probably made in 1949. Therefore, not a contract rifle and meant for the British Army proper.

    Help with my Enfield

8 MOA is insanely bad for a Lee Enfield or really any milsurp rifle. I honestly don't think Tubb's FF is going to help you much, if at all. Is this a shooter or a collector rifle? If you have it as a shooter I'd recommend replacing the barrel (Criterion make LE .303 barrels). The rifle doesn't...

    Help with my Enfield

Yours was made at Fazakerly in Great Britain sometime after 1951... It's an Irish contract rifle based on the prefix and serial number range (PF 309348 - PF 359347).

    Make your case...

Already have a Ross III. It's accurate to be sure, but it doesn't really float my boat they way some others do... And I already have at least one example of every milsurp rifle I wanted (with the exception of the RSC-1918) and in most case more than one if I shoot that platform enough.

    Make your case...

So I’ve decided to pick up one last milsurp rifle before I bow out of the game... I’m down to either a Finnish M39 or a Swiss K31, but I can’t settle on which one I want. I already have one of each, and in fact I also have a Swiss G1911 and a K11. But I also have a standard Russian 91/30, but...

    Iron Sight Accuracy...

So it goes without saying that we all shoot better scoped vs not. That said, I’m curious what the consensus is for accuracy with iron sights? I took one of my Lee Enfield No.4’s out yesterday with a Fulton of Bisley ‘no drill’ mount and got 1 MOA average over four 5 shot groups at 100 yards. I...

    Sub MOA SKS?

Let’s be honest... Is there really a rifle made since 1898 this can’t be said about?

    Sub MOA SKS?

A rifle is more than just its action, it’s the sum total of its parts. It may be accurate and it may be interesting, but it’s not an SKS.

    My New Z Prefix 1903-A4

They certainly suck when compared to even low quality modern optics... However, I’ve always been of the mind that’s unfair when judging vintage gear. When compared to what was available at the time the M73B1 is a solid scope. Certainly there were better options available when considering its...

    Sub MOA SKS?

That’s not an SKS any more than a 1903a3 is a K98... A rifle design is the sum total of its parts, not just the action.

They suck... I’ll give you $200 for it.

    We lost.

$1800 isn't cheap, but when you consider the quality of the rifle it's worth it. We've all seen less accurate bolt guns go for a similar price... I think in a vacuum most shooters would be willing to pay that price for a rifle as accurate and quality as the K31. The problem would be that a lot...

    We lost.

No... The Franks were Carolingian/Merovingian Germanic peoples that came after the fall of the Western Roman Empire. They’re the people of Charles ‘the Hammer’ Martel who saved Europe from Muslim invasion (and probable conquest) in the 8th Century, and who ruled Frankia (France) when the Vikings...
