    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2021

Something that might help is to build out a spreadsheet of every item you can individually weigh. Then work on what else you can shave off... mostly dependent on how handy you are and how much you want to spend. Another thing for everyone else to consider, dehydrated food/prepper type stuff has...

    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2021

Anyone started gear selection, prep, etc? Ill start with the heavy packs in September as it'll give me time to work up without trashing my feet and knees. Otherwise its regular running and exercising for me.

Sidearms & Scatterguns SH handgun Dot Torture challenge

Ran this version today. The timer running makes you think about being efficient, but I ran the drill consciously not looking at the timer to get an informed run. Shot it at 4 yards and clean with my Staccato P...making a score of 4 yards/159.40

PRS Talk 2021 Mammoth Sniper Challange

You can always make it with less, but you don't have to. Being it's a competition, performance is the goal and maybe having some fun. Its ultimately up to for making it the experience you want. Some guys will try to go lightest and see how they can do, some try to win, some want to camp and...

PRS Talk 2021 Mammoth Sniper Challange

Convertible pants with a softshell material were great, just 1 pair. Two shirts to rotate, as a dry shirt was a treat with the excessive humidity and sweating. I have a sun hoody that was money for sun protection but not too hot or heavy. Bring 2-3 pairs of socks to rotate. Have a plan for it...

    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2020 Discussion

Here's my gear load out from the match this year. I ran primary with a 6mm CM, secondary shot a .223. http://practicalsharpshooter.com/load-out-mammoth-sniper-challenge-2020-primary-shooter/

    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2020 Discussion

We ran a .223 bolt gun for the secondary rifle. Aside from the stage with the red target you weren't supposed to shoot, everything else had benefit for the tighter accuracy of the bolt gun. Our secondary rifle was sending 75gr ELD-s at 3060fps. There wasn't a time we wished for a .308 as the...

    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2020 Discussion

It was very stable. With the straps tightened down and then the top straps crossing over the gun and tight, it wasn't moving. No problem running with it if necessary.

    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2020 Discussion

I ran a Sawtooth 45 in Toughman. It was pretty packed at the start, and I used a Kuiu pack gun holder for strapping the rifle to the back. I put my rear bag on the lid and used the top straps of the pack to cross the barrel and bag before tightening it all down. Very stable.
