Anyone Rit dye a KRG Bravo yet? I'm about to try

I have a FDE Bravo that I've painted. It's OK but I like to tinker. People dye Magpul polymer all the time so I figured I'd try it on the stock. I just need to deep clean it and get all traces of paint off and figure out a hot water tank system that will hold everything. Anyone try dyeing any of...

    Decided to Rattlecan my Rifle

3rd try is the charm. I didn’t like my store bought stencils so I did the sponge camo. It looked too busy to me. I wanted a large contrasting pattern and I didn’t want the same old thing. I looked at a bunch of different camo jobs online and borrowed a few ideas then made my own stencils with...

My first attemp at sponge camo.

Anyone use Alumahyde matte clear or one of the matte clears for wheels? I just wanted to add a little protection from cleaners but I want to keep a very flat finish.

My first attemp at sponge camo.

That’s my favorite do-all color, Aervoe Field Drab. Cerakote has it too and has a bunch of good pictures in their gallery. Edit: after using Aervoe for several years I’m impressed with its toughness, however I don’t like many of the color options. After the Aervoe dries I’ll finish the sponging...

Rifle Scopes Worth upgrading from LRHSi?

I have a LRTS and also have a Cronus. I had an ETR. If locking windage is a must, the ETR is very nice for the price (I paid $900 new for mine) and to my eyes it doesn’t give up much to the Cronus and the turrets feel better. I can’t remember how it looked compared to the LRTS, but it sure...

My first attemp at sponge camo.

Ok, round 2. I switched gears and tried some good stencils. It looked technically fine but it just looked unnatural. One round of Citristrip later and I sprayed the Aervoe base coats for a sponge job. I’m using an tutorial from another site and laid down a couple of contrasting stripes. This is...

    Decided to Rattlecan my Rifle

Has anyone compared Krylon Fusion to Aervoe? I found out that both are Acrylic Enamels, so I’m trying to figure out if Fusion specifically is equal to Aervoe durability. I know regular Krylon isn’t close. The Aervoe Foliage Green is just too light for my 3rd color and I can get the Fusion Moss...

Optics WTT Cronus BTR 210111 w/APRS1 mil for Delta Stryker 5-50 gen 2

I’ll regret this, but I really want to try a Delta Stryker 5-50. Both scopes have the same street price so I’m looking for an even trade. I’m wanting the latest 5-50 with zero stop, with either the DLS-1 or DLS-3 reticle. My Cronus has the APRS1 reticle with the tiny center dot, which doesn’t...

Rifle Scopes Best scope for around $1500

I’m very happy with my Cronus BTR. I keep getting tempted to try and trade just to try something new, but it works very well and I just can’t unless something amazing hits the market at the same price point (although the idea of a Delta Stryker 5-50 is tempting). I wouldn’t even consider the...

    Best route painting barreled action

I would always hang the part up in a closet and pretend it didn’t exist for 2 weeks. I also had good results with application by heating the can in a hot water bath and heating the parts a little with a hair dryer.

    Best route painting barreled action

I’m using Aervo for a stock and AR furniture but I plan on using Alumahyde II on a Howa action. I used it on a Savage before and it seemed to be more durable than anything else from a can. It takes 2 weeks to cure, though, and the nozzles clog. I kept the nozzle soaking in acetone to keep it clear.

    Decided to Rattlecan my Rifle

I was going to sponge my Bravo but switched gears and bought some stencils. I’m waiting for the rest of my Aervoe to show up but I’ve been trying similar colors on a junk wood stock. I’m thinking of increasing the amount of field drab vs. foliage green. Any suggestions?

My first attemp at sponge camo.

Well, I finally got off my ass and started. I put the base coat of Aervoe Field Drab on my Bravo. Now I need to figure out what other colors to add. Even the first coat looks better than the original plastic FDE to me. The color is almost a perfect match to the B5 Coyote.

Optics SOLD Nearly New Athlon Argos 10-40 gen 2 $375

I have a gen 2 Argos 10-40 for sale. It has 1/8 moa turrets and the new zero stop. It’s is essentially new, no scratches, etc. and was mounted in properly torqued Burris Signature rings. It has been used a few times for some informal bench shooting on a .22. I’m going back to a PRS style setup...

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

I suppose the Argos line would compare to the Vortex Diamondback, but not really sure. It all depends on the line, I think the Ares ETR is much nicer than the PST II, and I’ve had both. Many people say the Cronus is up there with Razor G2. Generally speaking I believe the lower end lines...

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

That got my attention, however that model was mil dot with moa knobs from what I remember. Been there, never again.

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

Exactly. I’m shooting a black and white target exclusively with this rifle. I don’t need low light capability, superb contrast, perfect color rendition, etc. I need a clear image and reliable mechanicals, and the Argos delivers for my purposes.

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

I had a gen 1 and now have a gen 2 and I’ve had a Golden Eagle. I had a Cronus on my .22 but it was overkill for bench shooting so I bought the gen 2. The gen 2 turrets are much improved and feel like a Midas TAC. The glass is good for its intended purpose of shooting benchrest targets. It won’t...

    CZ 457 2-stage trigger

If it’s like his 455 trigger (which it will be) there will be no better upgrade. This might be what finally convinces me to get a 457.
