    Rifle Scopes New IOR 3.5-18x50

Re: New IOR 3.5-18x50 Yes 14 Mils left of elevation. I was hoping for more but it is what it is. 20MOA Surgeon base on RSR action. 14mils will easily get me out to 1000yds with this rifle. That is 50moa of dial elevation, plus 15 mil of hold over in the reticule. (About 10mil viewable at...

    Gunsmithing Bedding for COLD BORE

Re: Bedding for COLD BORE All cold bore shots were from a "dirty" bore. I have only cleaned the bore twice and that was withing the first 50 rds. Every rifle I have shot will have a differnt cold bore if fired "wet". If I store a rifle I push a few patches with "REM Oil" down the bore. If...

Rifle Scopes Paralax on USO not correct to markings

The paralx on my USO scope when set is not with the correct range. As an example at 100yds the scope is paralax free when I set the objective at 280-300 mark on the scope. Is this something I need to contact USO about or is there other things at play that could be causing the differnce?

    Gunsmithing Bedding for COLD BORE

Re: Bedding for COLD BORE Once warm it will put 10 shots in 1/2 moa. (If I do my part) That is off a Harris bipod in prone or off a bench with sand sock. If one is out of the group it is because of the loose nut behind the trigger.

    Gunsmithing Bedding for COLD BORE

I just chambered a 6mm BR in an AISC stock. The barrel is a 27" H&S fluted and the action is an RSR surgen. On load development I noticed from a cold clean bore it would take 3 rounds to walk the shots into the "sweet spot" and it would shoot .25 -.4 once warm. 1st shot 1.5 low .75 left...

    Gunsmithing First barrel fluteing project

Re: First barrel fluteing project The mill is an Enco and it does have a DRO. The jig was made with sqare tubeing and a lot of shade tree enginering. I will be making some changes to the jig to make set up quicker. I was making very light cuts and useing an oil can to cool the end mill. A...

    Gunsmithing First barrel fluteing project

Howa HB 223 was the donor action and barrel. My own personal gun was the lab rat for this one. My mill was to small to set up any thing of length on the bed so I built a fixture to hold the barrel and clamped that to the bed. I can flute up to 18" on a barrel and i figure that for 90% of all...

    New Build 6BR or 243win?

Re: New Build 6BR or 243win? I'm leaning to the 6BR because it is so accurate and the barrel life is almost double of a 243. This will not be a bench gun but somthing that I can shoot the eye out of a knat at 100yds if I want to. (Or at least be able to shot golf balls for fun at 3-4x's...

    New Build 6BR or 243win?

I have all of the parts in hand or on order and am debating between chambering in a 6BR or a 243win. I will be running an AICS 2.0 stock on an RSR action with 27" H&S 10X barrel. even though I am setting it up as a tactical rig it will see more paper punching or varmit use than anything else...

Gunsmithing Making an action truing jig.

Re: Making an action truing jig. I made mine from a 4" OD pipe with 3/4" wall thickness. Permanently mounted to a D-cam and it works great. Plus it is universal I can do any action or barrel that will fit in the spider. I will be making some extra nut with brass protectors that swivel like...
