    Rifle Scopes $100 budget

Re: $100 budget +1 on the AETEC They're actually pretty decent scopes. If that can't be found go with a used Nikon Pro-staff. The optics are not super clear but are decent and they are damn near bullet proof. I had one on an old Ruger M-77 V that stayed submerged for 4hrs once when my...

    Smoothest bolt action ever!

Re: Smoothest bolt action ever! That is indeed a unusual lug set-up. If I'm not mistaken doesn't the sig-sauer SSG-2000 have a similar set-up?

Your "Working Class Rifles". Show em'...

Re: Your "Working Class Rifles". Show em'... Is that a Hogue stock? One of my friends has one that he's been wanting to krylon but we're not really sure how it would stick or how durable it would be on the rubber type coating on the stock? Hows it working for you?

Hunting & Fishing Pennsylvania (PA) Hog/Feral Pig Hunting?

Re: Pennsylvania (PA) Hog/Feral Pig Hunting? We left the big boars lay where they dropped. Took the tenderloins outta everything else. Soaked em in salt water and orange juice for 24hr and they where damn good. Also cooked a whole piglet that weighed 10 pounds field dressed that was awesome.

Hunting & Fishing Pennsylvania (PA) Hog/Feral Pig Hunting?

Re: Pennsylvania (PA) Hog/Feral Pig Hunting? A couple of buddies and I went on a hog hunt in Texas about a month ago. We met the guy on another forum and swapped a deer hunt for all the hogs we could get ahold of in 36hr. Turned out that was 14 of them. You might try getting on a predator...

    FFFFF

Re: 7MM magnum as a SNIPER ROUND I have to agree with 7mmRM, especially the remark about a .260 having more energy? I always thought higher velocity and higher weight equaled more energy? Who knew?

    First Bolt Gun (budget build)

Re: First Bolt Gun (budget build) rrflyer is dead on. Those NC Star scopes are absolute junk by the way. It looks like you found that out tho. Sounds like you made some good choices on your optics/rings/base. Your well on your way.

    Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308?

Re: Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308? I'd buy it and keep an eye out for a stock on here. Although quite a few of the h.s. precision Remington stocks sell on Ebay on a regular basis as well. Sounds like a good deal to me!

    Bushmaster bolt gun

Re: Bushmaster bolt gun It is indeed just a dolled up Remington 700. It says its a joint venture with Iron Brigade Armory. I wonder just how much IBA has to do with the build of these rifles? I envy the clip slot!

Gunsmithing Pillar length for Badger M5

Re: Pillar length for Badger M5 Your best bet would probably be to start with them a bit long and then gradually mill them down till everything works like you want it to. Stock variances and even differences between magazines will affect feeding so you'll have to sort of feel it out to get...

Ruger M77 Hawkeye -vs- Remington 700 SPS

Re: Ruger M77 Hawkeye -vs- Remington 700 SPS N.W. shooter i think you misunderstand the term lock time. Practice does not shorten lock time. Stiffer springs and a lighter firing pin shorten lock time. As far as Ruger VS. Remington I'm a Remington fan. I was a Ruger fan for years till I...
