    Thanks for all the help guys. Forgive me if this next question sounds stupid but can I build a 30-338 LM of a standard rem 700 long action receiver. If I can, could it be a repeater or only single shot? Could I modify a box mag or better yet use an AI chassis with 338 box mags?

    Thanks guys. The action is from a rem 700 xcr in 7 rum. Would there be any benifits in going 300rum over 300 mag? It's going to be my 1k yd rifle because I'm moving to Brisbane and they have a 1k yd range. It would rarly be shot past that but I would like to shoot at 2k yds one day
