Black Friday Sneak Peak – The SWFA SS AR !!

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of SWFA and their SS line of scopes. I’ve been lucky enough to be an early tester and reviewer of a few of their latest releases and their scopes continue to impress me. So fast forward to a couple weeks ago when I’m having a conversation with Brady at SWFA about...

    Help out Brady at SWFA!!

Now I know that Brady would never do this, he's not one to use this site of any others for personal gain....but I know that the Hide likes to help those that help them. Brady is the guy behind the scenes at SWFA; he's the one that helps put the snipershide.com group buys together. Everything...

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

223 is a better round than most people give it credit for, I'd lean that way. Bullets and brass are plentiful. If you want a factory rifle look at the Tikka Varmint.

    Distance for 175 vs 168

It depends on the 168. People use the term 168's in reference to the old Sierra bullets that should only be used to about 800. However, Hornady and Berger both make 168's that will easily outperform the old Sierra's. I've heard of guys hitting 1200 with the Hornady 168's if I recall correctly.

    timers on precision rifles?

I shoot fast and rarely run out of time, so for me I'd only end up mind screwing myself and distracting myself from shooting by looking at the watch too often. May work for some, but for me I'm better off just shooting and letting the time fall where it may.

Rifle Scopes The unofficial official snipershide.com prerelease review of the SWFA SS 3-15x42....

What Jon A said is spot on. I played around pointing the scope at the near concrete barrier you see on 3X and if something in the woods jumped out close the thick lines draw you to the the center of the scope for a snap shot. Rarely when hunting do I turn the scope down to 3x, more often I...

Rifle Scopes The unofficial official snipershide.com prerelease review of the SWFA SS 3-15x42....

Or is it the official unofficial one? Hell, I don't know. Frank has his all mounted up all proud on his TacOps but he's snowed in and will likely die a cold and horrible death in if the snow keeps up, so I figured I'd better post something with this bad ass scope being available for order AND...

Question for those with AIAX Chassis

I owned a few, but don't remember shortening any scope bases....but might have. I do think they changed the design ever so slightly to make sure that you don't have to do that now; I think there's a notch in the hand guard.

Rifle Scopes SWFA SS ~ 3-15x42 ~ Some initial impressions and pictures

I've been swamped at home and work, but the weather has finally gotten good enough that I will make an effort to hit the range!! Plan to do some reloading tonight while the wife is out with the girls and will hit the range tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest!! You will have a pre-release date...

Hunting & Fishing My new backwoods paradise - Seek Outside Tipi

Mostly an illusion, these things aren't made to have a big powwow in, but they aren't tiny either. I was higher and taller than the kids, so looking down on them makes the tipi seem smaller. I'll get some better adult sized pictures soon. No floor, you address it as needed. Many just take a...
