    Advice on my load IMR4064

4064 is a good powder for 308. This sounds like a neck tension issue. Are you full length sizing? I would also recommend switching to a Rem 9 1/2 primer and see if that helps.

Rifle Scopes Night Force 15x55x52 Competition

You might try doing a search on the shooters forum at 6mmbr.com. I believe I have seen several threads there on the NF Competition series.

Rifle Scopes Need Ideas / Info

+1 on the 6.5X20 Viper for its price point. I had good luck with that scope on one of my AR's.

    Rifle Scopes Nikon M 223 ???

I have had one mounted on a Ruger 10/22 for a couple years with no complaints. It has been a decent scope for what I needed.

    Gunsmithing Remington 1100 Issue

I have an issue with my 12 gauge Remington 1100 that I am hoping someone here can shed some light on as there appears to be a fair amount of technical knowledge here. The problem I am having is that when cycling by hand the action is not releasing and chambering the round. The twist is that...

    Savage Rebarrel Lessons Learned

Thanks to those who replied. I had read about the scotch tape trick to eliminate the need for the no go gauge however I decided it was worth the $27 to have it. For me it was a peace of mind thing. My background is in aircraft and I am used to tools being used to measure everything (I am not...

    Savage Rebarrel Lessons Learned

I decided to replace the factory barrel on my Savage Model 12 BVSS 308 Winchester with a new match grade Shilen prefit barrel. To accomplish this I purchased a Wheeler action wrench, Wheeler barrel nut wrench, and Forester go and no go gauges from Midway as well as the barrel. The attempt was...

Gunsmithing Bore scope in Wichita, KS

It quit shooting. That is what prompted me to want to look at it. I tried chasing the lands (I knew there was erosion because my OAL to the lands changed) but I was not able to recover the previous accuracy. The final straw was when I tried some 175 SMK's (I have been shooting 180's). I...

Gunsmithing Bore scope in Wichita, KS

Is there anyone out there with a bore scope in the Wichita, KS area that would be willing to let me take a look down the barrel of my 308 with it? I am debating the need for a new barrel and would like to have a look first. I am considering buying a bore scope but that would impact my barrel...

    Need heavy duty tumbler: Recommendations?

You can't go wrong with Thumler Tumblers. Made in the USA and they do a fantastic job. I bought an Ultra Vibe 18 because I was wanting more capacity. I noticed two things immediately. First, it is significantly quieter than my other tumbler, second, it moves the media much faster. It does...

    Shotgun hulls

I am assuming these are 12 gauge hulls. As far as value Remington STS hulls and Winchester AA hulls are the only ones that have any real resale value with the Remington's being better since Winchester changed their hull design some years ago. There are some out there that might pay for Federal...

Brass Prep & Trimming For ARs

I am not able to skip the chamfer and debur ops completely but they are much easier due to the clean cut. The outside debur is almost non-existent which is a big win. With my RCBS trimmer the burr on the outside of LC brass after trimming was typically fairly significant, with the Little Crow...

Brass Prep & Trimming For ARs

Due to the volume of trimming involved I purchased one of the Little Crow Gunworks trimmers. It came set at 1.750 which is the recommended trim length in the manuals. . I highly recommend the LCW trimmer. Not only does it save time on the trimming itself, but it also saves time on the...

Sort of a reloading question; Paint for reloading bench?

I would put rubber matting on top of it. That is what I did with mine. I used stable mat from Tractor Supply cut to fit.

    Hornady "Suspend" List

If this is a hoax then Midway USA fell for it. I was looking at the 60gr VMAX and it says "temporarily unavailable". I doubt Larry got hoaxed...

    Bullet depth/OAL/Varget questions

If you are encountering enough resistance when seating a bullet to deform it, even slightly...Stop, that is no good. I would not hesitate to seat the bullet longer based on what you know about your OAL to the lands. I do not shoot the 75gr Amax in .223, but I have a lot of experience loading...

Rifle Scopes Nightforce NXS Windage Knob Question

I called Nightforce and the tech had me try some things but it did not resolve the issue. They recommended I send it in and assured me that it would be covered under the warranty. I am expecting my RMA number shortly. I am sure they will make it right and was very pleased with the service I...

Rifle Scopes Nightforce NXS Windage Knob Question

I recently purchased a used NXS 5.5X22 with HS knobs from a member here. The windage knob feels mushy compared to the elevation knob which is very crisp. Is it normal for the windage knob not to be as crisp? This is the first NF I have owned with the HS knobs (my other has the std knobs) so...

    Powder Valley?

I have never had any issues with backorders from Midway. I have always eventually received what I ordered, many times before the estimated date. I have had some orders where the date slipped, but that is a risk I knew I was taking when I placed the order.
