Price on Lake City Match/LR Brass?

Re: Price on Lake City Match/LR Brass? If you have a good digital scale weigh out 100 cases and then count how many are in bucket and do the math. I used to know how many fit in a 50 cal can but CRS strikes again. Wanting to say 800 but that may be way off.

    Neck Tension Question

Re: Neck Tension Question By neck tension I mean the size of the neck in relation to the bullet. Some folks like a neck to be .002" smaller than bullet. Others .001" smaller and other combinations. Only problem with a expander ball it depends on too many variable things that will affect...

    Neck Tension Question

Re: Neck Tension Question Neck tension is but a small part of getting a small SD. Propellant burn rate, primer energy, barrel condition, inside of neck condition, flash hole centrality, case volume all come into play. Mainly it is uniform bullet pull that is the telltale, not how it feels...

    Mexican match

Re: Mexican match I have found it is easier to break the mouth lacquer if the ammo is cold so pull it all in the winter. Also the lacquer doesn't seen to stick to the bullet so bad. You will most likely need to neck size it after pulling as some of the military bullets run up to .3089" so...

Light primer strikes or dud primers?

Re: Light primer strikes or dud primers? Or you could seat the rounds long into the lands which would hold it up to bolt long enough to fireform cases. I have a 358 I made cases for from 308 brass but I did it different. I loaded 30 cal cast bullets in 308 cases and shot them in the 358 and...

    Stainless Steel Media Testimonials

Re: Stainless Steel Media Testimonials When you dump out brass and media, take the brass out of black water and place in clean water. Pour off the black water over a strainer. After rinsing your brass continue to use that water by pouring in the media just separated from brass/water to...

Remington accused of 700 series dangerous flaws

Re: Remington accused of 700 series dangerous flaw As indicated I have nine of them. I carry one when me and dog are out walking our seven mile circuit in case I get a shot at a coyote. I have known about the problem for years and for that reason I got four in the mag and carry on empty...

Remington accused of 700 series dangerous flaws

Re: Remington accused of 700 series dangerous flaws One must question the timing of this EXPOSE' and as we all know the crap press has pre made segments on different segments to be played right after something happens or to take the country's attention off something else. Like what is about...

Remington accused of 700 series dangerous flaws

Re: Remington accused of 700 series dangerous flaws I would not call it a design flaw but rather it is like a chain saw, table saw, band saw, which are as we all know can very dangerous but if handled correctly they can be used forever. Basically any trigger that depends on a piece of sheet...

    Remington rifle problems exposed

Re: Remington rifle problems exposed I don't have much use for the press these days because the only thing you know to be true when you see it is that you paid your power bill to operate your TV. As for content I don't put any stock in anything they say unless it is Fox news. I was talking...

what would be your concerns? Win 70

Re: what would be your concerns? Win 70 if the action has a clip slot it is the TARGET Model. If it doesn't it is the Varmint model. Since it is 243 chances are it is a varmint model. New ones with pencil thin barrels are 799.00 as I just looked at one an hour ago at store.

    Remington rifle problems exposed

Tomorrow night on CNBC 10/20/2010 at 2100 hrs there is going to be a hour long program on how dangerous the 700s are from a safety standpoint. Obviously a hatchet job some bastard has dreamed up to make Remington look bad.

    260 from 708 brass?

Re: 260 from 708 brass? I start off with LC Match cases and firstFL size with 308 die then go to 7/08 then to 260. I stress relieve them before each operation as that is lots of brass movement to harden things up. Also I use Imperial Sizing Die wax.

    New life for 303 rifles

Re: New life for 303 rifles I finished chambering it yesterday and as bolt closes the shoulder contact the case. If I had prceeded as normal and headspaced the case head the shoulder of the case/chamber would have been .013" apart. This should get me much more case life.

    New life for 303 rifles

Re: New life for 303 rifles The problem with most all the 303 conversions is the dies are very expensive these days. I designed three new cartridges based on 303 about six years ago and the dies are cheap as any you will find. First was the 306 Confederate Sabre. To make this I had Dave...

    Remington 40x rifles

Re: Remington 40x rifles I have to agree with everyone on this one. I have two 40X rifles. A 40XC and a single shot 30/338 Mag and as well I have 700s. I don't even shoot the mag. Guess I should trade it or sell it. Talking money here I would just buy a 700 and send it to Bryant Precision...

    New life for 303 rifles

I got a 30/303 RCBS FL die about 30 years ago in a trade and with one thing leading to another I decided I needed a reamer and a rifle to go with them. Basically it is a 303 FL die but neck reduced to size and hold 30 cal bullets. I got a Elliott 303 Brit reamer on ebay and had the neck/throat...
