Mr. AK, what you've just demonstrated ... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent movements were you even close to anything that could be considered safe and rational marksmanship. Everyone in...
Re: Can you really ever get a bore clean?
What is "clean"? Yet another subjective term a la "best".
Should'nt strive to have your barrel ubber-clean. Over cleaning a rifle reduces barrel life. Remove carbon buildup when you start to notice a reduction in <span style="text-decoration...
Re: Theoritical Ballistics: effect of gravity?
Set aside the 15k DA for a moment. Based on projectile motion and Newtonian (non-Eulerian) mechanics, your maximum horizontal range (R) and maximum elevation (Y, ordinate) would be:
R = [v(o)^2*sin(2*theta)] / g
Y = [v(o)y^2] / 2g
where...
Re: Spartan Blades: "Knives with Intent"
+1 for Enyo. The S35VN edges out the SV30 steel and retains a razor sharp edge.
Besides being an excellent HAK, prefer to use Enyo affixed (blade down) to my Ebelstock G4 pack for field use.

Re: How much water should we drink?
H2O =\ Carbs =\ Protein =\ Fat. H2O = WATER. Plain and simple. Protons can't become electrons, and water can't transform into fat.
Become acclimated to water and you'll shun carbo beverages, etc. H2O does the body good.
Re: Going with a .300WM
R700 MilSpec 5R 300WM hands down. 1:10 ROT. Invest in a brake and solid glass and you're GTG. Disregard a "build" and save $ to shoot and train with your rig.
Re: First day of Insanity, anyone else do it?
Check. Completed Insanity while in the field. It'll lean you out, strengthen joints/ligaments, improve balance, and increase cardiovascular output. Be sure to eat lean and conservative.
Don't chase the weight "loss" goal. InSanity affects every...
Re: 5 day full survival immersion: DONE!
Awesome! The 5d Survival Immersion course sounds like a blast. As always, excellent writeup.
Any plans you'll lead up a KO course in TN for 2012/13?
Re: when do you anneal?
Resizing Protocol:
NO Size x 3 firings, then ANNEAL, then FL Size x 1 firing, then NO Size x 3 firings, then ANNEAL, etc
Annealing Protocol:
Deprime, Clean (SST, 2hrs), ANNEAL, FL Size, Trim (as req'd), etc

Ordered my 20.6MOA (34mm)SPUHR for a TRG42 from Victor (TNVC) and it's solid. The integrated anti-cant bubble feature is convenient.

Re: Picked up a Fender Strat today
DG Rules! I've played an 80s Les Paul Standard for years for that 'Hammer of the Gods' tone, but always believed a Strat a la Pink Floyd and Eric Clapton was the way to go.
You motivated me to consider a Strat vice a PRS for my next axe!

Comprehend this derivation and YOU will able to solve for metric targets and ranges also.
