    Tax-Man Build, $2,500.

Re: Tax-Man Build, $2,500. Source for Rem700 actions at $450? Alright, I guess I will skip the 300WM in that AICS, I was just floored by the price. I don't get the funds for this build for a few weeks, and it will sell by then so it isn't in the cards anyway. And I should say that my...

    Tax-Man Build, $2,500.

Re: Tax-Man Build, $2,500. I've narrowed it to the 700 (20" or 26" heavy barrel) in the Mcree with one of the Vortex scopes OR the FN SPR A2/A4. I have some time to really decide (2-3 weeks before ordering, about), so I am still interested in hearing everyone's experiences. And now I just...

    Tax-Man Build, $2,500.

Re: Tax-Man Build, $2,500. I am really digging that Mcree 700. I am 90% sure I will be working towards that now. I think I will get the Vortex 5-15 HS to top it, and in a year I can upgrade to the G2DMR, drop my HS onto the .22lr trainer, and my Weaver will get tossed on a build for my brothers.

    Tax-Man Build, $2,500.

Re: Tax-Man Build, $2,500. What do you think about the Vortex HS? That is an amazing build, I think I would be incredibly happy with it. What distances do you shoot at? Any range reports? Love that stock!

    Tax-Man Build, $2,500.

So I got a refund, larger than I had anticipated, and I am putting $2,500 of it towards a new build. This will be my first long range precision build. I have everyday access to 100m ranges, monthly access to 500m, and every other month I can make the drive to 1,000yard ranges. Here are the four...

    Expected Accuracy at 100 Yards?

Re: Expected Accuracy at 100 Yards? Yeah, sorry should have specified. From a Bipod. Like I said this is my first precision gun, there is no way I am moving on to offhand before I get this more dialed in. So what is considered respectable at 100 yards from a bipod? Quarter sized 10 round...

    Expected Accuracy at 100 Yards?

What kind of accuracy do you guys with tons of experience get from your .22lr trainers? My 'trainer' is my first ever bolt gun, and there is no one in my area I have met that really shoots at 100yards or more, so I have no merit by which to gauge my success, or failure. These are the kinds of...

Re: New guy looking for cheap 308 build advice Not to hijack, but what is the difference between a Savage varmint action and the model 10 / model 11s?

    Savage 93 FV-SR or Ruger 10-22

Re: Savage 93 FV-SR or Ruger 10-22 I got the FV-SR and love it. And its a Mark II not a 93.

    Savage FV-SR

Re: Savage FV-SR There was a great write up on the 16.5" barrel of the FV-SR vs the 22" barrel of the TRR and the effect on velocity, both with and without a suppressor. There was no significant velocity difference.

.22lr trainer moving to .223, or?

Re: .22lr trainer moving to .223, or? Thank you for your input NaHa. I suppose I could skip the intermediate step of a .223 and jump right into a .308.

.22lr trainer moving to .223, or?

Re: .22lr trainer moving to .223, or? Thank you for the reply Thomas. I have a .22lr trainer that I have obtained for training because I totally agree with you. I am just saying that I cannot use it at 500m (ran out of elevation at 200m, but I have since ordered a 25MOA base). I wanted to add...

.22lr trainer moving to .223, or?

Re: .22lr trainer moving to .223, or? Yeah this wont be used in hunting, as .223 isn't a cartridge I would use for it. My uncle lets me use his 30-06, when I do manage to get out occasionally for game. The 30" barrel just seems so overkill for 500m, but when my available distances do...

This got long, too long - didn't read version at end. First let me start off by saying thank you! This community has been a wealth of information that has guided through me not just firearm purchases, but all the accessories that go along with them and the training involved. While I...

anyone using a mildot scope on there 22 trainer?

Re: anyone using a mildot scope on there 22 trainer? Similar to some other members here, I put a Weaver Tactical Grand Slam 3-10x mil/mil on a Savage FV-SR: Bottom MilDot for 200m with max elevation dialed in, ordered a 25MOA base so I can shoot 300m.
