    Gunsmithing laminated stock painting

    I got a stock on the way from a fellow hide member for my SPS-T to replace the hogue stock thats on it now. I wanted to Stain it to a dark wood or black color to keep the semi-tactical look. Do any of you know if stain or anything will stick to a laminated stock?

    Re: scope zero I could see this happening to a cheap scope, but a scope designed to be adjusted many times shouldn't have this problem. I would call that unreliable.

    Re: scope zero It was a trade-in, i got it from a very reputable dealer. I know the dealer had no way of knowing if it was defective unless they mount and fire it. I plan on box testing it when I get back to the range.

    I went to the range today to try out some new loads. I had my rifle zeroed for my 155SMK load. I had loaded up some 150 Nosler accubonds with some TAC I just got. The accubonds were exactly 4" lower than the SMK's. The windage was the same. Is it normal for that much difference? The distance...

    bad group with H335

    I loaded up some hornady 68gr BTHP bullets with 23.5gr of H335 for my AR. The groups were really bad, I had to try some m193 just to make sure it wasn't me. Should I drop the load down a bit or change powder? I got around 2820fps with the H335.

    Re: base height Does anyone have a NF base they could measure the thickness at the back? I called Scott @libertyoptics and he measured a Seekins to be .440 and a Warne to be .400.

    Re: base height Thanks for the info. Do I need to get a high strength steel ase for this to prevent the shims from warping the base? From the pictures, the NF and Seekins bases look lower than the EGW base I have now.
