    6 ARC - Anyone Regret It? Also considering 22 ARC

    Hornady ammo is showing up in the brick & mortar retailers. Midwayusa notifications piped up yesterday with Starline 6ARC brass. Things are looking up in my opinion.

    I used a Rainer Arms 22” for mine- I wished I’d of went with the 20” BA Hanson. Reasons- 1. Rainer 22” is an .875” at the gas block instead of a .750”. 2.     Range Report 7mm Creedmoor

    I’m shooting 150ELDXs out of a 22” 7mm-08 @ 2800-2815. I just don’t see stepping to a 162ELDX & even considering a modified 7mm-08 case,( SAW, or the other one above), I don’t see the modifications being worth the hassle. I’d like for it to be but I just don’t see it being worth it personally.

    That is nice: I was unaware of that length being typical as I’ve ready repeatedly that ~4.00” was required. I just don’t see Hornady supporting the Edge: certainly not getting it SAAMI approved. I do see them supporting a 338 PRC. I think it will lend to more .338 bullet & barrel options...

    I’ve never handled an Edge, but I understand a 4” Wyatt’s box is needed. Doesn’t this make it more of a Custom than something that would stay at or under 3.800”?

    This is hypothetical since I have not seen a reamer print that Hornady used for their 338 however, This is in the realm of what others have done with the Campfire & 375/338 previously.

    Exactly. I believe it would be akin to a modern .340 Weatherby. Hornady’s reloading manual calls for the Weatherby pushing the 250s to around 2900fps. I surmise the 265-270s would be around 2800-2825. ~85 grains of powder. Seems like a logical offering to me.

    33 PRC? when will it be announced?

    If the Hornady 338 PRC was loaded to say 3.715” or so with the 250 Berger or 270 grain eldx, I’d say it would be more than just an updated .338 Win Mag. Looking at the cost vs. performance, it would be roughly 85-90% of a 338 Lapua at 50-60% of the cost. I can’t help but believe it would sell.

    338 subsonic build info

    I don’t see the Krazy Ivan brass, dies, or barrels available… I would prefer it personally over the other choices as there would no bolt change needed for me. Otherwise I’ll probably go Spectre as it will be 100% Subs. Any advice? I want to run it on an AR-15.
