Rifle Scopes FFP Reticle size question

@wade2big Awesome! I definitely think I like the .05mil stadia lines better based off of those pictures but in daylight and I feel like I the thinner .03mil would still be usable at 10x with my eyes. I doubt I'll ever go that low in a match, but I could. Time to do some more research! That...

Rifle Scopes FFP Reticle size question

@Bare There @Rob01 @wade2big Thank you, that helps me a lot! I was struggling to find the correct terminology to put my thoughts into a coherent and logical question. Unfortunately I don't have the 5-20 SWFA... It's the fixed 20x. Fixed powers are so much simpler! I'm sure most anything I'm...

Rifle Scopes FFP Reticle size question

Yes, stadia thickness is the term I think I'm looking for. Doesn't the reticle get really tiny when you reduce the magnification and get really large when you increase magnification? That's why the MPO has the double lines so you can see the reticle easier at low magnification, right? My...

Rifle Scopes FFP Reticle size question

Hi, I hope this question makes sense... Im coming from a SWFA SS 20x and I'm finding that in competitions I would benefit from shooting at lower power (more FOV). I'm shopping for a new scope and have gotten lots of good advice on here from some of you which I really appreciate. My question...

Photos Joke went wrong... and actually worked?

So I have a problem where I'm really cheap and for better or worse do pretty much everything myself. for the last match of the season I wanted to add weight to my rifle that was originally 12lbs. Problem is my rifle is on a first gen MDT LSS and there isn't a good way to add weight... or is...

Rifle Scopes Brownell's 5-25x56 MPO is finally in stock!

Edit: Sorry to be redundant. ILya posted while I was typing my question. What do you gain with the MPO (besides capped windage) over say: -PST Gen2 -XTR2 -Optika 6 Or even the Arken? Specifically talking about 5-25ish models. I feel like the PST, XTR and Optika are in pretty much the same class...

Rifle Scopes Brownell's 5-25x56 MPO is finally in stock!

@freeride, Thanks for the review. That's disappointing to hear.... I'm looking really hard at this as an option. Its kinda between the MPO, XTRII, or Optika 6 so if anybody has any experience with any combination I would really appreciate hearing about it. I'm literally going tomorrow to start...

Creekside Taylorsville, Georgia Monthly PRS Matches

They told everybody after the December match that they weren't going to do more than a few (if any) matches in 2020.... Going forwards they are more in the "event venue" business than the shooting range stuff. They will continue to have the 100yd and pistol ranges for members, but being booked...

Creekside Taylorsville, Georgia Monthly PRS Matches

When can we expect the season results to be posted? I think it's a little weird that the last results posted were from April......

looking for 2019 matches in Georgia

Trauma1, the only one I see is the Alabama Precision series. That looks like it might be a better option for a novice and not really any further than MPA. Does anybody have experience in those matches?

looking for 2019 matches in Georgia

Hi All, I really want to participate in a few matches in Georgia this next year. I have never competed in any shooting matches other than the 200yd CMP Garand matches. I am looking for something pretty novice friendly and preferably within an hour or two of Atlanta. I saw a few MPA matches in...

Gunsmithing Remington 700 Ejection Port Milling???

God Bless you guys! I had already dressed the extractor so it wouldnt bind when holding a shell due to it being just slightly proud of the bolt nose diameter and hit the underside because there was a bur like Steelnecktie said. I went back and polished it up better because I thought that seemed...

Gunsmithing Remington 700 Ejection Port Milling???

Hi All, I have a 700 SA that I built and I am having ejection issues. The brass is bouncing off of the side of the rear bridge and being thrown at 1-2 'o clock or not ejecting at all. I did all of the work on this rifle myself and am running a PTG 1 piece bolt with a standard m16 extractor (only...

    Gunsmithing .260 match reamer question

Thank you everybody for the input. I carefully worked up to 44gr of H4350 without pressure signs with a 140gr BTHP. I guessed at a good load of 42.6gr amd ran it out to 600yds. I think I can improve the load when I get out my chrono, but this is looking promising!

    Gunsmithing Pacific Tool and Gauge

I just received a 1 piece remington 700 SA bolt. It is excellent and they shipped it in 6 weeks when they estimated 8-12. I only needed to take ~.015 from the front of the bolt handle to get it to fit and I have much better primary extraction than the factory bolt.

    Gunsmithing .260 match reamer question

So I (poorly) slugged the neck area today and the dimensions came out .293/.2925. It some dirty, pure lead so the results weren't great...

    Gunsmithing .260 match reamer question

Thanks Rubicon. I'll cast the chamber as soon as I get a chance and see what actual neck dimensions are. What would a good neck dimension be on my loaded cases with my .297/.291? Looking at other reamer prints I don't understand why there is so much taper on the neck of this one.

    Gunsmithing .260 match reamer question

.2915/.2895 is what I am reading on this resized Hornady 7mm-08 brass. I did not spec anything on this reamer, I just decided click "match" when I ordered it elk ridge. I didnt know quite as much back when I did this barrel (aside from how to properly setup and indicate a barrel for lathe work).

    Gunsmithing .260 match reamer question

Thank you Supersubes! It makes my life easier not having to mess with this. It just was freaking me out a little since I am used to having to seat really long to get to the lands in my .300wm and 6.5x55. I try to be very cautious since I do all of my own work and know what can happen if I don't...
