Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG 1-10 LPVO

Hey! Wait a second! You chime in on this thread and you fail to tell us more about this new optic! That is against the law.

Rifle Scopes New Schmidt & Bender PM2 6-36x56

I would have purchased a 6-36 by now if it had that reticle. Just a SKMR 3 type reticle is all they need. Think a S&B version of the Leupold PR-2. All the benefits without the clutter.

Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG 1-10 LPVO

I think Ilya cannot reveal much yet. I like my short dot dual thus far, and I am very happy that I purchased one despite the price. My S&B short dot dual has great glass, no distortion up close and far away, easy to use adjustments, and the footprint is frankly not that bad compared to other...

Rifle Scopes New Trijicon RMR....... HD

I finally placed a back order on one. Not many have theirs yet. Those that do like it.

The revised Kahles K18i-2 with a wider FOV

Agree. I own a K16i. Love it. It sits on a 16” AR in 5.56. I think second focal plane is great for 1-6x. Beyond that FFP makes more sense for long distance work. The K18i-2 looks like a great hunting or 3 gun optic though. If only if I had time for boar hunting.

The revised Kahles K18i-2 with a wider FOV

Everyone needs to subscribe to this channel. He is doing good equipment reviews. I wish they would re-monetize these guys. Anyhow, I am glad I bought my S&B Short dot dual. This scope however has a role in 3 gun matches. I’m sure some day they will make a real tactical LPVO.

Rifle Scopes New Schmidt & Bender PM2 6-36x56

Thanks again guys. I think this optic will be on my buy list for my bolt gun this coming year. I just wish they had some more reticle options, but the P5FL seems good to go minus a simple tree.

    Bought a S&B Short Dot Dual 1-8 MDR-T6

I just shot my rifle indoors today, ~ 140 rounds, with the S&B mostly in CC mode. I had no issues with the dot brightness while in the scope’s eyebox, even when off center and left handed. Hopefully at some point this winter, I can get to the multigun style range I am a member of, so I can shoot...

    Bought a S&B Short Dot Dual 1-8 MDR-T6

Yeah I read about that before my purchase. Work gets in the way of me shooting more at present. Time will tell if I have the issue, but for now it appears it is working fine for me. I always shoot nose to charging handle (roughly) with my ARs.

Rifle Scopes New Schmidt & Bender PM2 6-36x56

Thank you. It is much appreciated. So how is the eyebox beyond 25x? The exit pupil is quoted as being < 2 mm diameter on S&B's website and catalog, so I was curious. I have crap eyes, and I am very sensitive to those issues. The one photo you posted that was off-center appears to still show...

Rifle Scopes New Schmidt & Bender PM2 6-36x56

So guys, if you had to choose, S&B 5-25 or S&B 6-36? I want a different scope on top of my .308 bolt gun

Finally a review. It’s on its Swarovski cousin though:

Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG 1-10 LPVO

The parallax changes to 7 meters on the CC mode. Normally it is 100 meters. Hence, that’s why it looks like 0.95x magnification. I don’t believe it goes below 1x, like some of the odd Swarovski and Zeiss LPVOs do for hunting. Regardless, hopefully we hear more soon on the AMG 1-10x. The Brits...

Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG 1-10 LPVO

My S&B has ZERO distortion. Sorry if I didn’t make that clear. I see no distortion CC-8x on my S&B. My point was I can see paying $4k for this Vortex AMG 1-10x if it is superior to the Vortex Razor Gen III, has a dual focal plane like the S&B short dot dual, and lacks any “fish eye” distortion...

Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG 1-10 LPVO

If the scope is dual focal plane like the S&B and lacks distortion like my new S&B short dot dual, then it will be worth $4k. I also agree with the point that what we really want to see is the optic Vortex developed for the XM5 program: optic + rangefinder, etc.

Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG 1-10 LPVO

I wonder how this will compare to the Short Dot Dual CC given the $4k price. Will it be usable on 10x or is it really a 1-8x scope?

    Bought a S&B Short Dot Dual 1-8 MDR-T6

Too few because of work lol! I am probably up to 500-600 rounds. Surprisingly, with my K length Surefire 762 SOCOM rc2, I don’t always have to put the gas block in the suppressed setting. I find some .308/SAAMI spec loads that are not “hot” to need the normal gas setting. Otherwise I will get a...

    Bought a S&B Short Dot Dual 1-8 MDR-T6

The magnification ring is aluminum. The notches/serrations are sharp in my opinion. It takes some effort to adjust it, but it is tolerable. I’m sure it will break in with use. I just ordered a S&B throw lever: https://www.eurooptic.com/Schmidt-Bender-PM-II-Throw-Lever-971-06841.aspx The...

    Bought a S&B Short Dot Dual 1-8 MDR-T6

Thanks for the reply. My primary issue with the Nightforce ATACR 1-8 is on 1x power. I see a big fish eye effect, worse than the Vortex scopes. May be me. On 6-8x, the ATACR shines. Also, I cannot stand the lack of a normal diopter adjustment on the ATACR. It’s a real pain. I have to make a...
