Finally did it! (and a question)

Line the target area with lyme or fine sand provided the land owner is good with it. Misses will be send up a nice dust cloud.

Title says it all really. Looking for a press in decent shape to add to the line. PM me with what you have or send me an email; [email protected]

Are solid/monolithic bullets more finicky than jacketed?

Pardon the delayed response, my Hide account had issues with me changing email addresses. Most folks don't have the capacity to measure the groove diameters accurately. There are basically two ways to get us the dimensions. If the barrel mfg has the capacity to air gauge the barrel and measure...

Are solid/monolithic bullets more finicky than jacketed?

I've discussed this extensively in other posts, but the fit of the bearing surface (or driving band in the solids world) to the groove diameter of your barrel is critical to prevent gas leak by and ultimately have good results down range. Solids do not conform to your barrel's groove diameter...

    For the doubters

Haha. What's really funny about this is that I don't drink coffee.

    For the doubters

Had a chance to reflect on a little shooting we did just prior Shot out in the desert. This is essentially a shameless plug for the Flatlines, but it is real world data and targets don't lie. The target at hand was placed at just over 1600 yards. I will admit that I had a wind bitch here; one...

    308 Transonic range

Based on his current twist rate, the only Flatline that will be stable in his barrel will be the 160gr mag feed bullet. Making some assumptions here on specs; assuming it is a 26" factory barrel and not knowing where the OP is shooting, I am using 1000' of elevation for rough numbers. At a top...

Top inherently accurate 2000 yard calibers

Awesome! Thanks for sharing that and the data. On paper, I'd say that load is on the spicy side, so I'd certainly not suggest anyone just jump into that from the start; best to ladder into what works for obvious reasons. However, it is clearly working for him. But most, even with a high end...

Top inherently accurate 2000 yard calibers

None taken. Most folks don't realize the potential of a high BC solid in these type of conversations when they are accustomed the thought process of jacketed bullets.

Top inherently accurate 2000 yard calibers

And I'm guessing the PRC with a Flatline will quite impressive too!

Top inherently accurate 2000 yard calibers

That's too bad. The 300WM with a 180gr or 198gr Flatline is 2000 yards capable all day long.

    Precision Rifle Expo 2019

I'll let Frank comment on his own participation, but I did speak with Phil Cashin briefly about it at Shot and he confirmed that it is indeed a go this year. I do believe we'll be there (still tbd), but this is a great way to get product in front of the consumer, never mind that fact that...

    2019 SHOT Show (ELR-Specific): Day 1 (Tuesday, Jan 22, 2019)

Yah, its been a long week. But it wasn't posted here, hence my announcement.

    2019 SHOT Show (ELR-Specific): Day 1 (Tuesday, Jan 22, 2019)

I should point out an inaccuracy here. Oscar was going to come back to our booth for more details, but we never got back together. A New introduction at Shot was our 285gr 338 bullet. No other 338 bullet on the market has ballistics anywhere close to it. We also unveiled our 505gr 416 and...

    285gr 338 Flatline

No. Not at this time. While we never make assumptions for obvious reasons, we will conclude that the stability results will be consistent accross all of the Flatlines that have the same geometry characteristics. Thus, I am certain that the 285 will transition very much the same as the 256. Our...

    285gr 338 Flatline

Thanks for that. I was not aware that the changes proposed were that broad. Will be following that for sure.

    285gr 338 Flatline

You do know that we have a Canadian importer/distributor right? Selling direct will depend on what changes actually occur. And even if ITAR regs change to allow such transactions, projectiles will most likely remain on the US Munitions list, so export will still be a requirement.

    285gr 338 Flatline

Needs a 9 twist or faster. Standard barrel configurations are good; you don't need anything special to run these. 4 groove, 5r, even the Schneider polygonal stuff seems to be ok.

    285gr 338 Flatline

In case you haven't seen our press release on FB, the new 338 is available on our website. We will be posting starting loads when i return from Shot next week. For now though, you will still be safe with H1000 in the Lapua case. RL26 will be a bit too hot so i wouldn't recommend it there.

    That should be easy enough.
