    Arcteryx Beta AR jacket

Im a climber and so lightweight high performance gear is a must for me. I own several Arcteryx jackets. The Beta AR is a soft shell with little to no insulation. Just a soft lining. It will only kee you warm with the addition of a fleece layer. Be sure to fit it accordingly, Arteryx stuff is...

Rifle Scopes Scope rings differences in price but is there a difference?

Let’s see, $1000 rifle, $1000 scope, $30 for rings? Why cheap out on rings. Even if your rig is far less than this good rings are still worth their weight in gold. If you ever lap your rings you’ll understand why more expensive rings are worth the money. My sons gun has Vortex PMR rings and they...

    Rifle Scopes Lighted Reticles?

Fantastic when shooting near dusk with a FFP scope with the power backed down. Makes what would otherwise be a useless tiny reticle visible once again.

    What rear bag is best?

Sock for the win. It’s a rear bag. You sqeeze it. It ain’t complicated. That being said, for prone work Ive settled into one shape. I like the squat soup can type bags like those from Giles, Red Tac, Wilderness Tactical etc. there’s a million good ones and they all act the same.

    Rifle Scopes New scope

Without more information as to your intended purpose and use it’s like asking what is the best car under $30,000. Do you wanna drive fast? Hunting vehicle? Stick or automatic? Two door or 4 door? Grocery getter or traveling car?

    6 creedmore starter rifle

Another option is to spend a tad more and get a Bergara HMR Pro. I’m surprised they dropped 6mm in the B14. Now I’m glad I picked another one up when I did

    Bergara for the win-Again

R700 clone but they use a coned bolt face so Remage barrels and prefits are out till someone starts making them for this configuration. But any stock that fits an R700 action will take this one.

    Bergara for the win-Again

So. Picked up an HMR Pro 6 months back and it’s been a tack driver. My son and I have been sharing it but after he hit 3/3 Xs on his 600yd qualifying day at our range I figured it was time for his own rig. Found a Bergara 6mm Creed B14 HMR for $800 on gunbroker, added a Arken EP4 Shr 6-25 I had...

Who sells the absolute cheapest .300 upper

After seeing some of the nightmares in cheap AR 15s out there with crap like poorly timed barrel extensions chewing up bolts, unsupported cartridges due to improper barrel installation or improper headspacing etc etc. I would avoid going there super cheap route. It would be a shame to see a kids...

    Bergara B-14 Hunter .300WM

Any competent smith can cut the barrel for that gun. You’ll need to get the blueprint from Bergara as they use a coned bolt face and the barrel will need to be cut to mst h but other than that it’s no biggie. you should have a helluva shooter on your hands. Congratulations.

    PRS Caliber Help

Don’t worry about factory ammo. Any place that stocks Hornady match in 6.5 also likely stocks 6mm Creed. If you are unconcerned about barrel life and don’t mind rebarreling then 6mm is simply a joy to shoot and easy as pie to make up accurate loads for. Drop a 108ELD match or Berger Hybrid on...

    Sendero Contour and heat

Glad to hear this. I’m already getting sub .3 MOA groups regularly with the Bergara. .5 is routine. Any improvement on that and I’m a happy shooter. Any improvement in consistency and I’ll be thrilled.

Rifle Build - Re-build current rifle or start from scratch?

By the time you pay to have that action trued you could have bought a Bighorn action for a bit over $800 that will still be a better action overall. Just the ability to easily disassemble and change bolt heads is worth the price of admission. There are still a whole bunch of us who are old...

    Sendero Contour and heat

I’m curious about Sendero contour barrels. I’m shooting a Bergara HMR Pro right now and while it’s a heavy contour, it’s still a bit light by most custom long range comp rifle standards. So I just picked up a new Brux tube in 6mm Creed from another SH member in Sendero Contour so I’ll have a new...

With the popularity of this gun today I’m hoping to see someone making prefit barrels down the line. There is definitely a building demand.

Advice on Gunbroker rifle purchase gone bad

Choose your FFL wisely is the lesson here. That shop broke my number one rule in business. “Never assume anything” I hold an FFL for my engraving business and I can damned well assure you that if a box comes in the mail I inspect it before tossing it. And in my case that means slitting the...

    Hmr pro

Bergara definitely has their barrel making game down pat. Mine performed exactly as yours did. My only wish is that they offered heavier contours for rebarreling. At $500 for a rebarrel it’s a bargain but you’ll have to stick with factory contour which is a shade light for my tastes.

    Gunsmithing Durable Firearm Coating?

Air cure cerakote has been astoundingly durable on my AR. That being said it’s all in the prep. You must media blast the parts and thoroughly degrease. And apply with the proper equipment. Preparation is everything . Not as durable as a baked job but pretty darned tough in my experience.
