    70-Year Old Reloads

    It'd only happen once. :)

My first reloading attempt was a failure, what now?

Agreed. I have an RCBS and it works like a champ. Saves both the bullet and the powder.

Vudoo V-22S Single Shot BR/F-Class Action

I score all the rimfire targets in these matches. I can attest to everything Drew and Travelor said. IME, what really matters beyond equipment and shooter ability (Drew is far too modest re the latter) is, first, matching the ammo to the rifle and then lot testing, followed by (maybe) weight...

    Stubborn Carbon Ring Removal

    C4? Isn't plastic explosive a bit extreme?

    Extremely low muzzle velocity (1350fps)...

The OP said that the other guy's gun shot normal velocities with the OP's hand loads. I assume these loads came from the same batch that were delivering 1350 fps in his (the OP's) own gun. If that's true, then the problem is definitely with the new barrel, or so it seems to me. You could slug...

    .30-06 Ammo

I think I've found the answer Tony question about the year on an old post on another forum. The writer said he had some Lake City M2 headstamped LC 69 and the lot no. is 42188. My M2 is lot no. 42276. So I think this question is put to bed. Thanks for your input, Tomcat!

    .30-06 Ammo

I won't be the one shooting it. I got it for my grown daughter, who lives in PA. I live in AR, and she's not really a shooter so I don't want to try to tell her how to clean a gun with hot water. I've pretty well satisfied myself that this ammo in non-corrosive from info I found on the inter...

    .30-06 Ammo

I've recently acquired a couple of boxes of Lake City '06 ammo and am trying to figure out if it has corrosive primers. The head stamp says LC 9. Just one digit for the year, which doesn't help much in figuring out what decade it was made. Anybody know? Did Lake City ever use corrosive...

Optics Optic Sale - Free shipping & No Tax

I don't see Sightron listed among your suppliers, but I'll ask anyway. I'm looking for a Sightron SIII 8-32x56 with MOA-2 or MOA-H reticle. Do you have these?

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

Thanks. I really hate that the reticle is too fine for these old eyes, 'cuz I really like the scope in so many ways. But if I can't use the reticle nothing else really matters.

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

I never said it was the scope's fault, and I didn't "tear it apart". All I did was to remove the turret caps to reset them to zero and to set the zero stop on the elevation turret. Apparently my eyesight just isn't good enough for this scope. I love everything about this scope except the...

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

Thanks for the suggestion, Voodoo. I'll give it a try. When I was shooting yesterday it was a bright, clear sunny day, and I was shooting an orange & white "sighting in" target at 100 yds. I'm afraid That when I'm shooting at a B&W target on an overcast day, as I often do, the reticle might...

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

I finally got a chance to try the scope at the range. For the most part, it's a very nice scope. Repeatibility is perfect, the turrets couldn't be better and it has a really solid, simple and effective zero stop. The optics at 40x (the only magnification I used) were good but not great. I'd...

Rifle Scopes Is a 1/8 MOA adjustment over rated?

I think that it all depends on what discipline you're shooting. If it's bench rest, you'll want 1/8 MOA clicks. For tactical, 1/4 is better.

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

Thanks! I did get one, from a local guy. It has everything you mention PLUS it came with a set of flip-up lens caps and a sunshade, saving me about $50 on buying them separately. Haven't had a chance to try it yet (my ring bases haven't come in), so I can't comment on the optics. FWIW, it's...

What do you have against Harris bipods? Mine works just fine, though it only cost $80-90.

Thanks -- I'll do that! Sales tax could be the deciding factor if I decide to take the plunge.

Rifle Scopes Athlon Optics Argos BTR Gen II 10-40 x 56

I've done a little more searching, and found that Camera Land, Optics Planet and Amazon all have it for the same price, $430. Haven't looked anywhere else. As an Amazon Prime member I get free 2-day shipping but still have to pay Arkansas sales tax of about 10%. With my Amazon Visa I also get...
