I have a 1:12 twist with a 26" barrel. I use the 175gr. I'm looking at going up to the 180 and/or 190gr. Depends on how much velocity you can get from them. A 1:12 twist will stabilize a 190gr provided you get the right velocity. 180gr you can definitely stabilize. Use this and check out the...
Long range .308 Pet Loads ? My favorite 600yd load is: 175gr SMK Win case CCI 250 IMR4064 44.9C OAL 2.81 Avg MV 2715 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When I did my workup and test fired it, it was in the mid 90's. Test fired some more shots this February with temps in the mid 30's. I only had a muzzle velocity average change of 10fps slower. YMMV. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dents and FL resizing Too much lube or there is lube build-up in your die. Clean your FL die out and go a little lighter on the lube. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've seen the same thing in the 175gr SMK. I once weighed an entire box of 500 and every last one was right one the money 175gr. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have issues with it I know, especially if I start getting tired towards the end of a match. Lol. Man I hate getting older. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What can cause inconsistent velocities? One of the biggest things that can cause fluctuation in velocity is not holding the rifle the same exact way each and every time. Not holding the rifle tight up against the shoulder, the same way every time can cause it as well, plus you'll lose...
I ran into the same exact issue. I just FL resized everything after pulling all the bullets and powder, and everything worked great after that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I believe it's 1:9.25. I've shot 175gr out of mine before I started reloading they shoot great as well. I actually have a secondary load using same powder just on the upper end but doesn't give as good of accuracy. It's still great but not single hole great. I figure if I need to reach out...
Factory Sporter Barrel on 7mm mag - WTH? Don't mind at all. It's actually a middle of the road, light shooting deadly accurate deer killing load. Hornady 139gr BTSP Win cases IMR 4350 57gr CCI 250 OAL 3.300 Avg MV 2850fps Yes 26" barrel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd say yes I've had similar results with my rem 700 BDL 7mm RM. This is a 5-shot group at 100yds with my 7mm RM. I love this gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
260 rem & 2000mr ladder test - initial results inside I checked the jbm stability and it looks like I'd be able to run their 185gr bullet. One of them had a length of 1.435 and I was marginal at 1.1 something if I can get it too 2700fps. The others I was 1.3 something with a length of 1.353...
260 rem & 2000mr ladder test - initial results inside That looks pretty familiar to the results I got. Loading to 2.81 OAL. I'm thinking about working up higher but like I said in small increments just to be safe. I'd like to keep the accuracy I have now but more velocity for 1000yd matches...
260 rem & 2000mr ladder test - initial results inside Sweet. Yeah I'm sitting at 47.5 for my 175's. I'm thinking about doing some more testing in small increments since I haven't seen any kinds of high pressure or anything. I have a goal in mind that I'd like to reach. Sent from my iPhone...
