    6GT current loads and progress

Sorry, I completely forgot that I did shoot a five-shot string of the 39.5 load over a chronograph at 100 yards a few weeks later. Not the greatest sample size for sure, and yep, doing it assbackwards as usual . :) Velocity 2852 Average 2848 2836 High 2855 2849 Low...

    6gt

I've done some testing with H4831SC. 39.5 did well with 115 RDFs in a 7.5 twist 26" Bartlein. 2875-ish, slightly crunchy, but no pressure signs. More details here: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/6gt-current-loads-and-progress.6995239/post-10313879

Nice rig! I like the magnifier (what brand?) and the wrap on that Burris. I'm looking at that same scope, what height are the rings? You should be just fine with H4350 and the 108 ELD-Ms, especially since it shoots the factory ammo so well. And your process sounds spot on. I am up to 6...

    6gt

I used up some Hornady 95 SSTs during initial zeroing and they looked pretty good. 26" 7.5 twist Bartlein 5R HV, mild load of 32.0 grains of VV N140, .020" off lands, Hornady brass, CCI 450. I didn't chronograph them, but my notes say I used 1.5 MOA (~.5 Mil) up for this group at 200 yards (1"...

    6GT current loads and progress

If anyone is interested in using H4831SC in the GT, here are some of my results with 115 RDFs (I have more of the 4831 powders than anything else, so I thought I would try it). .020" jump 26" 7.5 twist Bartlein 5R HV (~850 rounds so far) Hornady brass Fed 205M Rear bag and bipod off a bench. 3...

    Gunsmithing 6BR chamber recommendations

Thanks for the help. Norma makes Dasher brass (https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/77530), but you're right, AFIK, you have to fire or hydro form Lapua Dasher.

    Gunsmithing 6BR chamber recommendations

I'm thinking about going 6BR as well. One thing I want to check on here is: are "6BR" and "6BR Norma" indeed the same case, or are there dimensional differences à la Lapua Dasher vs. Norma Dasher? Thanks

My experience with the new Barnes 112 grain match burner

NorCal Vu is running them with Varget in his 6GTs (33.5-33.9 grains). See some of his posts starting here: 6GT Project/Range Report | Sniper's Hide Forum I've had promising results with them also in a GT using 36.0 grains of H4350. See some of my posts here: 6GT Project/Range Report | Sniper's...

    Range Report 6GT Project/Range Report

Yes indeed, 37.0 of Reloder 16 looks verrrry promising with 105s, if a bit fast. Pic 1 200 yard 8 shot groups of 36.0, 36.5 and 37.0. 37.0 is obviously good, but MV was 3010. No obvious pressure signs, but will definitely check for pocket looseness on the next loading. Previously tested loads...

Right! Forgot about that. Works about as well as H4350 in my .243 and 6.5CM, and seems to be somewhat available still. Will try to test next time out.

Yep. Eastern NC here. I don't compete, just a hobbyist, so my powder situation is not too dire, but I really want N150--and maybe N140, but it ain't lookin' good--to work, since Varget and H4350 are as scarce as unicorn farts.

    Range Report 6GT Project/Range Report

Brass and primers were fine (sorry, no pics). In my previous tests at those charges I DID get sticky lift and slightly burnished headstamps, but after checking my CBTO with an actual fired case, I found that those loads may have been right on the lands or even jamming a little. I haven't...

    Some progress.
