Rifle Scopes IOR; Recon Gen 2 4-28x50 vs. Tactical Gen 4 6-24x56

Miso here we are again Recon has better glass hands down ,great clarity edge to edge no tunneling at low magnifications ,more elevation bad- 40mm rings , a bit less handy paralax control , eye relief change ,new untested design (but its sort of generic to Terminator) 4gen 6-24x is a...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

In Europe the pricing spread for these scopes is way different and only scopes cheaper than Recon in this lineout are Bushnells and the smaller IOR while Vortex Razor, NF NXS and Recon are tied for price more often than not, so for us Bang for the buck ratio goes up considerably. Whille the...

Now you are stretching playing March apologet in only ones who would use different mil are Russians and my be Finns but in both cases you would know what you have . If March does indeed use different mill and no one knows about it its even worse. LOL good one March owner could test how wrong...

    Rifle Scopes IOR terminator

Not much to tell on the video system me and my buddy, bought a 2000mw 4 chanell sender and reciever package on e-bay for about 50$ ,wired an old digital camera i had lying around ad added a motorbike battery , on the reciever end i coupled it with a 40$ 7 inch monitor and a bike battery. At...

    Rifle Scopes IOR terminator

For tactical use 1cm/0.1mil clicks are great ,but for precision shooting i prefer 1/8moa vs 1/4th moa klicks with 1/4th moa i often have to aim a bit to the side as the 1/4 moa click is to much (my F class gun is sub 1/4moa accurate ) In reality long range spotting is ofter dictated by...

    Rifle Scopes IOR terminator

I am a IOR fan but honestly i do not see the terminator as practical its simply to big 1/4mo klicks are too large, for target shooting i would rather stick to their 9-36x spider (you want 1/8moa clicks) if you want very high magnification i would chose Khales K1050 instead ,for tactical rifle i...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

400$ Weaver T36 wins these kind of matches all the time and that doesn't make it best scope of the job it just good enough . In BR weight is the driving factor to many scope choices. March is very light for given magnification. But still wouldn't be in my top 5 choice for a tactical scope .

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

Great test and appreciate the considerable effort was put into making it . *March owners must be feeling a bit down as the scopes tested are doing their best to finish among the last nearest competiion being half price.LOL

Rifle Scopes IOR Bucuresti Scope value

this is the scope 1.5-8x26 35mm SFP TRIDENT TACTICAL .308 BDC ELEVATION KNOB W/ CQB .223 BDC SUPER BRIGHT RETICLE And its not the Gen which was prone to fail , in my opinion i wouldn't value it much under 1000$ but in the end depends how fast you need to sell.

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

Tracking is measured and remeasured perfect and no it does not sit on a 200 round per year rifle. Its on a .284win tacticool rig that shoots enough and travels with aiplanes to the matches. Last station Finnsniper . google it up (interestingly there were a couple of Recons there.) It is...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

Still fired up are we . New Recon sort of took the parallax issue that was the bane of one gen of ior FFP scopes head on with a bit funky solution that should make the paralax element quite recoil proof

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

You sure seem to be quite fired up :D so i will indulge you some more, just for fun. i like you do not have the mid tube thickness ( i would guess is close to 0.1) but as mentioned it takes a lot (70+%)of additional thickness to to close the gap doesn't matter if the base line is 0.04 or 0.15...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

Did a rough calculation and assumed same thickness and same materials ,If i take something between 1-3mm wall thickness (cca0.04-0.12) as i can not measure scope tube thickness in mid tube things only change a couple of % up or down and you need roughly 70% more wall thickness to equal 40mm...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

If all things are equal 34mm tube will only exhibit about 60% the siffness of a 40mm tube ,ratio betwenn 30 and 34 is not that much different in any case these things vary even more due to general scope layout long scopes vs short stuby etc. Other thing particular to comparing scopes ither in...

Ok whatever ,i didnt say all scopes fail ,but all scopes models and brands period including 2-3k$ scopes have at one time or another failed and continue to fail ,for various reasons and in various ways ,being hand built some, actually more than a few also feature manufacturing errors and...

Of the 4 scopes that tracked perfectly only Hensoldt had a slight cant of reticle But all tests are subject to individual scopes tested, luck of a draw, every time you would remake this test with different batch of scopes results would vary in the parts that depend of individual scope build...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

Some one has to make progress without companies like IOR you would still be looking at 1'' standard tube ,coin adjustable turrets and mildot reticle as the most advanced reticle option ,not long ago 34mm tube was not very common ,now its most common in high end tactical scopes. ,plus IOR always...

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

Could be but from my personal expirience IOR is quite polarising no other brand comes close and first couple of gens had problems . On the other hand what i see with many top brands is suprising tolerance form their users for thier flaws ,must be good if its so expensive kind of logic. LOL

Rifle Scopes 2014's Best Scope ShootOut

I vote for IOR , own a couple a 9-36x56 and 4-28x50Recon both work flawlessly great glass ,perfect tracking ,great turrets , only handicap is weight but that comes with rugged construction . and unileke most scopes that are cheaper in US than in Europe, IOR is much cheaper in Europe than the...
