Help!! Live round stuck in my Rem700.

Take it to the gunsmith. He may have to cut the barrel off, but it's better than the serious injury you could get. In the future, I would not reload belted magnums without using the Larry Willis collet die to properly size the case just ahead of the belt.

    700 Rem Action Rebarrel?

I got a Criterion Remage barrel, action wrench, recoil lug, and nut from Northland Shooters Supply, and a set of go/no-go gauges. Cheap torque wrench. My rifle (a Remington 700 with a lot of history for me) then shot under 0.20" for 5 shots with handloads. You are unlikely to have to open the...

    I need a recommendation for a better 308.

Totally agree. Put it in a KRG Bravo stock. No bedding needed, get any good trigger. I use Jewell target trigger, and get some Magpul magazines. I use Northland Shooters Supply, for action, barrel, nut, and action wrench.

    REMAGE budget build??

Bone stock action, but Jewell trigger. KRG Bravo stock. Criterion Remage with trued recoil lug, both from Northland Shooters Supply, in 6.5 CM. 10 shots in 0.51".

So, why, Hoss? Am I that evil, or are they that bored. I respect your opinion, since you are a respected shooter.

They don't need my favors, and I am not affiliated with them in any way. Get your rifle somewhere else, load it yourself, and post your groups. I can do that for theirs. I helped one of their out-of-town customers with load development once when I ran into him at a rifle range nearby. That's the...

    Send-It Precision

Send-It Precision completed rifles are coming through the pipeline, and I've seen the rifles and the groups they shoot, and they are incredible! You can't get a better custom build for less money, to my knowledge. Check it out, and compare quality and value. I don't know of another place where...

Rifle Scopes Scope assistance for pig-headed son

I agree. Bushnell sells one that's only marketed direct from the company, to keep the price competitive, and it's right around $500. It's the MatchPro 6-24x50. If you want Schott glass, the Tract Toric comes in two applicable magnifications, one's about $1K and the other is about $1.5K...

Member Link Up Any ranges near Fort Hood?

You don't get to shoot beyond 200 yds. often at the Austin Rifle Club. Their monthly high-power match is all at 200 yds., the last I heard. That range is in Manor, TX. The Austin Gun Club is not in Austin, and it has longer range shooting. It is south of Lampasas, so it is much closer to Fort...

Firearms Winchester 70 Ultra Match / Palma Match / International Match Factory .308

How many rounds down the barrel? Is it the original barrel? The original barrels are hammer-forged, with a deep recess at the muzzle. Is the felt on the handstop worn, or has it been replaced? Has it been bedded? These are some of the best shooting rifles in the world, and I have only ever seen...

    New JLK bullets 2020

I decided to test the new JLK 130 grain bullets in my .260 Remington, since that chamber permits the bullet to reach the lands. The rifle is a trued Remington 700 built by Barney Eiseman at Shooter's Station in Conroe, TX, with a Krieger 26" 8-twist barrel, and bedded in a MagPul Hunter 700...

    New JLK bullets 2020

These are better results than I've gotten in the past, so I mention the numbers for sake of comparison. The test is on the target. The bullets look real good. Perhaps you should be one of the people who can shoot better than me, and provide more reliable info than I can generate. I'd appreciate...

    New JLK bullets 2020

I used the Hornady/Stoney Point ogive gauge on my caliper. Not anything special. I got a CBTO of 2.228" on one loaded cartridge, and all the others were 2.229". That was what I did. Mainly, I'm just posting my info so that interested people who have liked JLK bullets in the past can decide...

    New JLK bullets 2020

I just got my first batch of Ed Faber's new-production JLK 6.5mm 130 gr. bullets. Shipping was very prompt, and high quality packaging. I measured 10 of them, and will be reporting about first firing soon. First, though, the basic data. Bullet length was +/- 0.003". 6 were +/- 0.001", 1 was...

    Gunsmithing Gunsmith near Houston, Texas

A number of good choices. Those mentioned above (Pieper is the correct spelling, but pronounced Piper). Also Omar Alonzo in Pasadena, and Barney Eiseman at Shooters Station west of Conroe.
