While I don't have a 300 Norma, I can tell you the 300win mag recoils less then my Remington 5r in 308 did (the 5r did not have a brake) in fact, I feel like my mrad in 338lm recoils about as much as the un-braked 5r (maybe SLIGHTLY more). And it's not just me, my friends that have shot the mrad...
It was in interesting to see a guy that seems to know so much about the platform screw up something as simple as how many rounds the mag holds or seem to be unaware that the mag is a proper double stack mag when asked lol
Had a great time with some friends stretching out the MRADs legs out to 1000 yards. The wind was more then we would have liked for a first attempt (15 mph, gusting to 21mph) but we all managed to tag the gong. The DTA had a 16 inch barrel, and I swear the impacts barely had enough energy to chip...
I'm going from memory, but I thought I read that it went belly up because remington showed up to the trials will one rifle (which won), then tried to deliver one with a subpar barrel *shrug* . There was a thread with links to government website showing open orders, cancelled orders, all sorts...
So I have 3 caliber kits. there is a POI shift between them (IE my 308 barrel does not have the same POI as my 338LM barrel), but thepoi shift with each barrel is within 1-2 scope clicks when I put it back in. So I may have to dial 7-10 clicks switching between kits, but when I go back to a...
The consensus of those of us that have them, is that we are pretty happy. The biggest beef is the inability to get the barrel extensions separately, but least one guy has a 3rd party barrel, he just needed to find a donor barrel/extension to make it happen.
SO things were going well, my rifle loved my recipe (43.4 grains of varget with a 178 ELD-M, lapua brass, BR2 primers getting me 2667 FPS) and was typically in the half to 3/4 MOA range at 100 yards. To be honest, when I was working up my initial...
so I choose a neck bushing that should give me .002-.003 neck tension and I do not run an expander ball on the sizing die, then I run the mandrel, so the neck gets worked twice. You could just use the sizing button on the die, but from what I've read, you get more runout using the button then a...
thanks everyone for your opinions, I'll make a couple changes in my process, and see how it goes/try again to work up a load to see if I can get her back in the .5-.75 MOA range Namely, Anneal first (with dirty cases) lube decap/resize trim chamfer debur 45 min SS tumble w/soap brush necks...
It went from .5-.75 MOA to more of a 1.5 MOA gun. Velocities are within 5 FPS (2667 FPS with what I'll call proof/old loads I have still on hand) vs 2664 with annealed cases Bushings have been changed to a "looser" bushing to not work the brass more then I have to, but I'm still running .001...

Has anyone had a chance to try the 2 stage trigger? I'm considering picking one up, but before I deal with ITAR and the 3-4 month wait I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the hassle.
Doesn't the 5h add a lot of bulk to the front end? I was led to believe that you end up removing it for transport as you can't easily put the rifle in a bag or case with it on.
So i'm considering moving my Atlas bipod over to my AR, but I can't think of anything much better for the MRAD. Does anyone have any suggestions aside from the Atlas PSR? Is the 5-h a good upgrade or am I going to go crazy having to add and remove the bipod before and after every shooting session?
