I have a DD5 in 6.5 creedmoor with an 18” barrel. I would buy another one (my 3rd) with absolute confidence. It holds its own with more expensive rifles and is easy to shoot well wot a Mark 5 scope on top.
If you reload, use military hard primers. My bro had a SCAR 17 with the same problem that cleared up as son as we started using the harder primers instead of bench rest primers. Not the best solution, but it works!
I have two AR10s with 6.5 creedmoor barrels. One is a 20” Noveske and the other is a 16” Wilson combat. What has been others experience with barrel life in an AR10 platform. I have heard a reference of 2.5-3k rounds for a bolt gun with reloads/ factory ammo. Since the reloads I’m shooting...
I have played with 130 and 135 grain bullets before. Looks like I’m gonna have to break out the cash and buy some more bullets from Barnes to play with. If I come up with some kind of winning load using the powders I have on hand., I’ll try to share my results with you. My rifle is a Daniel...
Anyone working with 135 grain Sierra Varmiter bullets or Barnes 130 grain TTSX? I need a solid load for a DDV5 with a 16” barrel. I have access to CFE223, Varget, and 4064. My goal is a under 200 yard deer load for a smaller shooter. any experience from others would be appreciated
https://handloadingsupply.com/product/winchester-small-rifle-5-56mm-nato-spec-military-primers-41-box-of-1000-10-trays-of-100/ has anyone bought from this place that can recommend it? Is it legit?
Would like to see this short boi when you finish it! I could see this rifle being used with 135 grain Sierra Varmitres to hunt small bodied deer in tight terrain. Would make a great suppressor host to keep the OAL shorter than a jousting lance. Good luck with the build!
So, I bought a DD5V1 used. Rifle would not function…. Long story. Sent to Daniel Defense… rifle is working really good. If your rifle does not deliver, send it in for warranty work!
I’m planning on running this on multiple host, mainly 308/6.5 creedmoor and 5.56/7.62x39 semi auto rifles. My goal is to “tune” the rifle once and run the crap out of them. I’m interested in a low back pressure can so I don’t have to hack and cough when hog hunting.
I’m planning for my next suppressor purchase. I’ve narrowed my choices down to two .308 cans for multiple rifles. The OSS HX-QD 762 Ti vs the Sig HLX 7.62 Ti. anyone have experience with both and can give an opinion? For reference, my first can is a Rugged Razor. Tough as nails can, but...
I have both. I do my build up for accuracy on the single stage press. After I have a verified load, I can make a bunch on the Dillion 550. Only time I vary from that is my hunting rounds. For them I want total control of the process for ethical hunting. YMMV
