Moving to Northern VA, any ranges or clubs around?

Hate to break the news to you, but if you're moving to Stafford the only thing 9 minutes away is going to be wherever you are 9 minutes after leaving the house, which is about 4 miles unless its 5am, traffic here is no fun. I would like to get a sponsor into there as well, currently on the...

    Maggie’s Best single malt scotch

I'm more of a bourbon guy, but have dabbled into the scotch world a bit, first thing I can say is stay away from the stones recommended and get metal ice rocks, the stones always gave a flavor to anything I have had. Agree with those who have said to try straight, water, rocks. I have had a few...

Where to get ammo now post

Agree, wasn't justifying anything only identifying that it was available. I'm glad I stocked up when I did. Even with prime membership the new cost was $174.79 a brick, I think it was around $90 pre craze.

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

I guess I should rethink the "too much grease" guess. I've only had 2 other 22 rifles, only light strikes I ever had were cheap ammo in a 10/22 clone, half the brass I saw coming out of my 457 I was surprised the firing pin didn't cut through the rim! Regreased all the same spots that had it...

    .22 Steel Targets

Agreed, if you are not worried about the initial cost the nrl22 kit is the way to go. Setting up an actual stage versus coming up with a pattern on your own was a big help for me when I started.

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

Took some time getting everything together. Mag adjustment was a little funky but once I had all 4 squared away there hasn't been any problems since, 500 ish rounds in. Barrel is a 20" green mountain with eachus chamber from keystone accuracy, MPA BA chassis, trigger tech diamond flat. Runs good...

    NRL22X Rifle

I am in no way the guru here, but everything I have seen since I started shooting rimfire has showed me that nothing makes sense. I have seen people with the exact same setup as me have drastically different dope. My original reply to this thread is my intent...TEST TEST TEST. Get the rifle you...

    NRL22X Rifle

$3500 total is beyond what the average person would consider "budget" just like @littlepod said. A CZ457 and SWFA 3-15 was my "budget" setup and got me to just over 400 yards dialing. Just remember, with rimfire the ammo you are using is a MAJOR factor, don't expect to get what you want with a...

    RimX barrel choice

Correct, MTU is about 3/4 pound heavier from what I have seen. And also correct, after assembly and dry run with some positions the MTU would have made for a better balance. I am running in a MPA BA and the cog is right at the mag well when I was hoping it would be about 2" in front. Bad...
