    Knives Strider MK-1

The Usual Suspects Network has changed and there's no longer a Strider forum there. The only dedicated Strider discussion areas are the Strider groups on Facebook. There are three groups and you can find them all by doing a search on FB. The official group run by Strider is called Strider...

Night Vision TSA & PVS14 - What are the rules ?

It can't hurt to go to this page and print out the "TSA Prohibited Items Brochure" and bring it with you: Prohibited Items | Transportation Security Administration You could also bookmark that page on your phone in case someone argues that you don't have the most recent version of the regs.

New to the forum, new to rifles, not new to being stupid

I might be a contrarian but you're new to rifles and you're jumping into long-range precision rifles AND reloading for rifle calibers...that is a lot to take on all at once. It might make sense to consider focusing on one thing at a time, like first learning the fundamentals with a good basic...

    Pollimer 80% lowers

An 80% lower isn't a firearm, and it's perfectly legal to build a 100% lower out of an 80% lower. If you don't like it, take it up with the ATF or Congress. On top of that this isn't something new, they've been around for a long time. Can you cite a source showing they're being used in crimes?

Custom M1As: SAI donor action or virgin action (LRB, Fulton Armory, etc.)

I think that's a reasonable plan. For the first one a NM might be overkill for plinking with an Aimpoint. A Loaded would be plenty, and even a Standard would probably make you happy...you can always re-barrel down the road. I'm in the same boat as you regarding CA and all I will add is don't...

Custom M1As: SAI donor action or virgin action (LRB, Fulton Armory, etc.)

^^^^ That is absolutely true. Overall I think it depends on your intended use. If it's just recreational shooting then pick up a base gun or a Loaded and shoot with irons. No waiting around and with a Loaded you'll be under 2 MOA with match ammo, maybe even around 1 MOA if you get a good one...

Smith Enterprises, Inc. Suing over a forum post.

It sounds to me like a lot of consumers were already suffering...due to SEI's inability to deliver. If Ron Smith is the expert that he claims to be, he should have known that something unexpected might come up and planned ahead.

Rifle Scopes Rem 700 5R Ring Suggestion

Re: Rem 700 5R Ring Suggestion I have almost the same setup (700 5R but in .308, Badger 20 MOA and 50mm NF scope) and Badger standard height rings (.823") work in that setup. Not sure if you have the same barrel profile. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally...

Rifle Scopes Protecting my scope from the rings...?

Re: Protecting my scope from the rings...? Whatever you do, buy a proper in-lb torque wrench and torque the screws properly to the manufacturer's specs. Don't cheap out and tighten them by hand just because the torque wrench is expensive. No point in mounting a precision instrument in a...

Rifle Scopes Need some help (Mark4 4x14) TMR Reticle

Re: Need some help (Mark4 4x14) TMR Reticle Your MOA turrets are in 1/4 MOA increments, not 1/4". There's no need to convert mils --> inches --> MOA. 1 mil = 3.44 MOA. Rather than trying to remember all the different numbers just print up a range card with your mil-MOA conversions.

    JLD Enterprise PTR-91?

Re: JLD Enterprise PTR-91? I have one and it's a fun rifle. The iron sights are very easy to use and it shoots smaller groups with surplus ammo than my M1A Scout can. The downsides in my experience are the quirky ergonomics and it being so front-heavy, but it's a great range toy and I've...
