Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
If you're shooting modern rifle projectiles you'll get better results using G7. If you try to use G1 you'll find that you want to change the MV and/or BC at different distances (actually velocity as it decays) because it won't line up very well all the way out to distance depending on how far...
If you're in Quick Edit mode, hit Enter until DOF is highlighted. Point 12'oclock on the watch face at the target at hit the down button. That will use the direction you're pointing. If you use the up/down buttons to edit that value it will lock in at that value. Cycle through to DOF again...
I've seen LongShot cameras at a lot of ELR events in recent years and have been impressed. Finally broke down and bought one just before Christmas. Only been able to get out with it once at 650 yards, but it worked great. Super easy to setup and use, everything worked on the first try. I was...
I'm the Product Manager for the Foretrex 701 and the ballistics portion of the Tactix. You are correct, the T-X does not populate the angle on the Garmin, it's range only.
I'll see you there. I've not been to this specific class, but have been to their 2 day seminar several times. Chris knows what he's talking about and is a good instructor. Looking forward to this.
I like the nylon band for day to day, but it can get grimy during a match so I try to swap out to the silicone band if I'm going to be out in the dirt. If you want something different, any of the QuickFit 26mm bands from Garmin will work on the watch. They come in many colors and materials...
I just updated my Foretrex and tested. It works fine. Is there any chance you're just testing inside? If you range less than 40 yards the 2400 BDX won't display the firing solution. At least that's how mine is.
It depends on the ranges you're shooting. The binos have AB Ultralight which is limited to 800 yards and doesn't support coriolis, spin drift or aerodynamic jump. When you pair the binos with the Garmin watch it uses the AB Elite solver on the watch instead which removes those limitations.
If you'd like to see what ELR competitors are using, check out the stats that Brian Wink maintains in the "Safety First Tactical ELR" group on Facebook. Shows all gear including ballistic solver used for longest shots in competition. Lots of useful data points there.
