Is it possible to calculate the effects of a strong headwind on a bullet’s trajectory? I attempted to do this by changing the wind angle to 12 o clock and moving the wind speed up and down but I didn’t see any changes to the vertical correction (“path” in the language of AB). Situation: I was...
Yes I’m sure they have to switch brands around depending on what’s available. I think that Norma is one of the only high end brass companies that actually does the belted magnums. That’s probably why Norma is the brass of choice for berger. I do wish that Lapua and even Peterson would do 300 WinMag.
Have you use this load in a hunting context? Seems like it would be a great round for that kind of context, especially out here in the West where 300-800 yard shots aren't uncommon.
That's a pretty good looking load from my angle. I have typically been shooting the 225 Hornady ELX for hunting purposes, and it works quite well. What are you velocities?
I have also noticed that the elevation turret is difficult to activate, must more difficult than that parallax knob. The elev knob isn't impossible in the field, but it is noticeably more difficult than any other exposed-turret scope I've used.
Thanks for sharing this. I have a forthcoming review as well, now that I've had it out in the field a few times, including in some hunting conditions. Question: I had it out on my last hunt and did have some issues with getting the image to resolve properly. Perhaps I'm spoiled by my SB PM II...
I'm one of those folks on the hunt for elusive "best" 300 WM brass. Norma seems always be out of stock. I have been thinking about buying some of this Berger factory ammo (see subject line above) but was never sure about the brass quality. It isn't listed on the website...
Yes that’s True. The shoulder broke and so it just dropped and then died quickly. I hate itnwhen they suffer so thankfully this one didn’t take ling to die. I’ve been really happy with the 103s
I recently picked up a 6mm CM and have been anxious to get it into a hunting scenario. This weekend was the opener for AZ rifle Javelina in 18B (near Wikieup). Here are a few pics of the pig and the exit wound created by the 6mm CM. This shot was taken at 347 yards, and from a 16 degree down...
Yes, you're correct that a bore snake is a lightweight cleaning option, but it doesn't help with "stuck" things, which is really what I'm after. Thanks!
^ TRUE STUFF, especially the case head separation. I've had more than one shooting session ruined by this! But this is a great list of reasons why a cleaning rod is VERY important.
