Old thread I know, but I am interested in your reasoning away from just using straight 22PPC. I have an action with a suitable bolt face and have 50 or so rounds of experience with the 22 Grendel, which I liked, but the 22PPC just seems like the turn-key solution with brass already available.
Yes, you are exactly right I am a proponent of the NP (No Pan) version as it is more rigid. If I do need to pan I simply do that in the bowl top. Full disclosure: I am a contractor for these guys so I may be a little biased. Also if you want to put an order in the future let me know as I know...

I own several including the SBS THB in the MCS stock 6.5 Creedmoor and the SSG 04 in .308. Steyr makes a fantastic factory rifle. It is on par with many custom guns as far as accuracy is concerned. Yes, their barrels are a little thin but I shot .75 moa 15 shot group in less than 90 seconds...
