    Hornady on Load Development

People so badly want reloading to be some type of incredibly hard Vudoo magic to figure out. My shooting experience got so much better when I stopped caring about all the reloading minutia and started just pumping out ammo with a decent bullet close to book max at a normal overall length...

    Muzzle Brake vs Supressor

My imaginary confirmation biased mental data tells me that my can is about half as effective as a good brake at recoil reduction. If you want to free recoil off awkward barricades and watch your spots on a gamer gun a brake will do a better job. Personally, I find them miserable to shoot and...

    "Over Tightening" is a Problem?

I think you’re over worried about it. Just don’t go full gorilla on it. I know people talk about hand tight with direct thread but there’s an interesting bit in cgs manual here: For normal use, very hand tight will do. For extended use, torque the Hyperion using the 7/8” wrench flats to the...

    AAC "SABRE BLADE BLACK TIP"

We can’t know what happened, could have expanded inside and it’s laying dead 10ft from where you stopped looking. No way to know unless you do. The constant problem with bullet critiques without a dead animal

What does 6.5 do over 7.62?

It’s 2023 and we are still doing this. Feel like I’m in a Time Machine It doesn’t fucking matter shoot what you want. Walmart has both, there’s cheap shitty brass of both, there’s good stuff of both, the ammo for both is everywhere You’re gonna miss because you suck either way. Everything...

Rifle Scopes So, what about Leupold Mark 5 ?

I know of 2 that went back for turret work and have an acquaintance that has seen a few more go down. I understand small sample size etc, people are gonna follow their heart, but Figured I’d mention the evaluations since you asked about durability now that they are out there.

Rifle Scopes So, what about Leupold Mark 5 ?

Rokslide evaluated 2 of them, one 5-25 and one 3.6-18. The reviews are easily searchable by “rokslide field evaluation mk5”

    Vortex lht 4.5-22 durability test

So far my trijicon has not had an issue with the same cold making the magnification ring unusable by hand. The problem wasn’t that it stiffened. The problem was it was so stinking tight to begin with any further stiffening made it useless Anyway I’ll bow out if this now, just seemed right to...

    Diligent Defense Enticer S

It can but it’s a whole thing, it’s semi permanent because it’s a .670 barrel threaded 5/8 with almost no shoulder, so idk lots of work and I’ll still need to put a different taper mount back on. With the enticer I can just leave it as is and run a griffin hub adapter if the performance is equal...

    Vortex lht 4.5-22 durability test

I think the parallax and mag ring, especially the mag ring is just specced too tight. Idk why they did it; the razor gen 3 magnification ring tension is buttery smooth. I’ve owned 3 lhts total and all the mag rings were incredibly tight Either way, is what it is.

    Diligent Defense Enticer S

The first round pop metrics are what scares me off the enticer. Is it noticeable? I usually care less but with a hunting can it seems pretty important. Biggest drawback of the scythe is that the blast baffle is too close for a normal griffin hub mount and my brake is rocksett on my hunting...

    Vortex lht 4.5-22 durability test

I’d like to eat some crow here and say that I ended up moving away from my lht for 2 reasons, one of which has changed my outlook on optics and this issue. Firstly, the parallax and magnification were absolutely unmovable in extreme cold when it mattered on a hunt. Way too tight without an...
