Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
I used to use a RCBS M500 an. It worked well and you knew each charge was +/- a kernal, but it was slow. Like 100 rounds in 4 hours. Maybe I was just slow.
Classes would work for the larger matches (Rookie, Semi-Pro, Pro). Maybe 50+ people so less than 20% are placing. Most people have a great time, but the guys that are consistently on the bottom rarely shoot matches for long. Once you achieve a certain hit rate you would class up, but also if...
1a Wet tumble brass. This gets everything super clean prior to annealing. 11a. Dry tumble in corn cob to remove the lube. Using the Auto Trickler I got much better SDs after getting the Area 419 Base plate and cup. Using the original gave a larger variance in charge weights based on...
The OBT paper is a great resource. The largest variable I have seen over time is when switching batches of powder. The burn rate (Ba) can vary about +/-3%. Using the observed velocity feature you can quickly shot a few rounds of a new batch of powder and calculate your new charge weight. Or...
The Standard 93 code is for Lapua 6GT brass. There is no way to know exactly what code Alpha 6GT brass should be. 93 is a place to start though. Best options are to get AZTEC and use to determine code or send in your brass to the AMP guys.
The calculations look close between this tool and Quickload. I am getting about 50 fps faster prediction with Gordon's Tool. The OBT correction feature based on observed velocities is nice.
Look at the tri-fuel options at central maine diesel. You can run on gas, natural gas, or propane. Gives you lots of options. I have had one for 7 years and have never put gasoline in it. runs super clean!
Yea! There is a reason when you would send in brass to AMP they didn't just ask for 1 case. With the old non AZTEC settings you can see the variability is settings based on wall thickness. Turning necks will reduce the variability, but not eliminate it.
