Those other setups def have more sex appeal. Since my application was for hunting, and I tend to get really dirty when hunting, I went for a fully covered style. Which no one seemed to be making. The advantage of making it yourself.
I am an astronomy guy and I am a big fan of the Celestron brand of telescopes. Just buy the highest priced one you are willing to pay for. My first one was the nicest one you could get without the motorized star tracking feature. I started doing photography shortly thereafter and really...
I've been keeping a .22 suppressed pistol on hand when hunting to quietly address unwanted guests. I wanted a way to carry it more comfortably and useful, so I fired up the 'ole sewing machine yesterday afternoon and made a holster, with all the neato features. Kydex internal support structure...
The main issue you would run into is if the case is sized right. A re-sized case is dependent in how your die was set. If you use a piece of new brass, not been loaded yet, its less room for error. HS gauges are pretty cheap insurance though.
I have an unused set of Badger Ordnance 30mm aluminum rings, size high 1.125", still factory sealed. I bought 2 sets by mistake and don't need this one. Selling at a loss.
There could be several reasons, but usually when I see groups open up with a silencer attached, it means that the silencer is slightly off center the way its mounted. Not enough for a strike, but enough to disturb the bullet slightly. I suggest you check it with an alignment rod. Geissele...
Also, technically any .308 size bolt face short action receiver will work also. You can usually find .243 donor guns pretty cheap. You might consider selling the .260 take off barrel also. Some guy might like to upgrade his .308.
SOLD: I've had these for several years. They work great. I definitely used them a lot and it shows, but they are 100% functional and no scratches. I just don't get out as often as I used to and I need to free up some cash. I figure someone else could make better use of them than me. What...
A live center in the muzzle can cause that. Lots of gunsmiths thread that way with no regard. Some fix it afterwards with a cleanup pass on the crown, some dont. But that requires proper indexing of the barrel. And if they threaded it with a live center, they probably arent going to dial it...
Some 147 ammo will require a softer recoil spring even with a working booster. Try some different ammo. If you are married to this particular load, they try a 1-2 lb lighter recoil spring than stock.
Just turn a 12" piece of round stock. Both ends should be the same diameter. If the tailstock end is larger, move it towards you. If its smaller, move it away. Repeat until both ends of the stock are the same diameter.
I was pulling some 50 BMG rounds I had loaded last winter which ended up being too hot for Texas summers. I use H50BMG for my powder, however I pulled down some from a different batch (purchased from someone, not my reloads), and the powder was a fine grain ball powder. It looked very similar...
I use this one, and I absolutely love it. Yes, it requires a rail section on the 3'oclock position, but its worth it, I would add-a-rail to anything that didn't have it. Tactical Brass Recovery
