QD Mount? Hi All, I just got an SRS A1 Covert in .308 and .338 LM. I tried to mount an S&B 5x25 56mm on it using some existing Badger rings, but they were not high enough. Currently looking at American Defense AD-RECON-SW qd scope mount. My question is - Will the quick detach mount be...
My S&B PMII just broke. Put the rifle and ammo outside this morning for about an hour to allow it to adjust to the 20 degree temp. Then when to shoot - when I turned the power adjust ring, it was stiff, but moved freely, up to 22 X. When I tried to get it to 25 X I heard a light 'snap'...
Re: Considering Armalite AR-10(T) Carbine Boatman, I've had an AR10(T) carbine for a little over a year and a half. I'm very impressed with it. I've tried just about every bullet/powder combination available and find the 175 SMK behind 44.7 grains of Win748 to be the best for me. It is a...
Re: SMK 1477 vs SMK 9377 Thanks Gunsnjeeps. I would have never guessed. I just assumed the numbers identified different bullet designs, not the packaging quantity.
Can anyone tell me the difference between these two bullets? Sierra's site lists the BC's and SD's as identical. What would be the advantage of one over the other?
Re: Now accepting back orders on the Vortex Viper Does anyone have a 2.5-10x yet? I'm thinking this scope would be about the right power/size/weight for a mid range AR. If you have one, please post some thru the scope pics. Pics at various ranges like 100yd and 600yd and at low and high...
Re: 20 WOA Upper not shooting consistently... Is the scope new or has it been mounted on your 18" that shoots so well? If new, you might want to put it and the mount on your 18" and see if it will still shoot 1/2 inch groups. At least that would confirm or rule out the scope/mount as the...
Re: fgmm 168 velocity from a 16 tube I'm averaging 2417 fps for TAP 168 gr FPD and 2428 fps for FGMM 168 gr out of my 16" AR-10T Carbine. However, I'm loading 175 SMK's to 2500, but it's pretty much maxed out. 2475 fps with the 175's is very accurate. YMMV.
Re: Some Vortex PST's are in. Just ordered a 1-4 PST MRAD from Doug and canceled my on hold order with Optics Planet. Doug said the order would go out right away. Great service!
Back in Nov of 08 I purchased a Falcon Menace from RW Synder Gunsmithing. I've used the scope regularly since I receive it and have been happy with it's performance. Earlier this month during a shooting session I noticed some 'black dust' in the sight picture. It turned out to be inside the...
I have a friend looking to buy a new piston semi auto AR-15. He's narrowed the search down to LWRC or Patriot Arms and ask me which I thought he should pick, and why. I've heard good things about both companies, but don't have any personal knowledge about their products. So I thought I'd ask...
Re: GAP chamber / throat length. Scout1 Let me stir the pot a little. If you are not seeing any pressure signs and are happy with the speed and accuracy of your load, I'd just shoot it. Suppose, for a minute, that GAP or the Hide recommended a COAL that created pressure signs or dropped...
Re: Reloading ban More likely it would mean that you won't be able to buy reloading equipment or components without a federal license. Once your current supply is gone - your screwed. Just a backdoor approach to gun control - If you can't ban 'em, neutralize 'em.
Re: 6mmAR vs 6.5 Grendel Steve123 / Trilogymac Thanks for the input. I have a Grendel, but was lured to the 6mmAR because of the additional speed potential and the ability to use my existing brass. When I compare published 6mmAR loads against published Grendel loads, the 6mmAR has slight...
