The hash marks line up almost perfect, but how do you hold for wind? The picture is a 5mph crosswind. With a 10-12+ mph crosswind, it would be doable, but a big enough hold that its almost guessing. Also, how are you guys ranging targets? I read somewhere that the hashes line up perfect with...
Alright guys. I'll leave it alone too. Didn't mean for everyone to get so pissy. I just wanted to know what made them better than the rest. "They just are" will have to be good enough for now I guess. If anyone has both scopes to compare maybe they could do a slightly more objective test...
I like Vortex. I have four. I've had 3 or 4 others in the past as well. My first post in this thread was that I run a 2.5-10x44 on my 6mmAR. I've never had a problem with Vortex to need them to take care of me. I'm 100% sure that if I did have a problem they would take care of me...
It sounds like you got a lemon as well as a lot of other people. Didn't vortex come out and upgrade the eye piece on the origional Razor because of a bad eye box? And didn't they come out with a Gen II Razor that fixed a lot of the complaints from the first gen? They were up front and...
So the 4-16 and the 6-24 are the same and the 2.5-10x32 is clearer? The guy up above says the 6-24 has better glass than the 4-16. I can't argue with you because I've never looked through it, much less side by side with another one, but it sounds like it may be a subjective opinion. It may...
I've never handled one so I'll have to take their word on it but I'm curious as to what makes the glass in the 2.5-10x32 PST better than the 2.5-10x44 PST when vortex says the glass is the same. And I'm not talking SFP VS FFP.
I understand the difference in SFP and FFP but per vortex's website the Viper, Viper HS, Viper HS-T, and Viper PST all share the same glass. XD lense elements XR lens coating Argon purging Armortek And same Oring seals. It does say the PST's have "optically indexed lenses" and the others don't.
I just switched from the Burris Pepr because I wasn't able to keep a consistent cheek weld with it because it wasn't the right height for me. I know it's not a one piece but I recommend the Warne 215m rings for an AR. They may not fit a scope with a 50mm objective but they will fit a 44mm...
I adjusted the trigger on my model 70 down to #2.5 with no problem. Just finished doing my dad's and got it down to #2.5 but now the bolt is hard to lift when recocking. It lifts fine with the bolt already cocked. I didn't pay attention before doing the trigger job so it may just be the bolt...
I've bought two model 70's in the last year for $400/each. One was a 71' featherweight & the other a 64' with a cheap scope. Both long actions. Both in 95% or better condition. Just a minor scratch or two on the stocks. Got one on gunbroker and the other on Texas hunting forum.
Posted in gunsmith section also. Can someone give me a ball park on price? I'm looking at buying a Sig TacOps 1911 with some custom work done to it and I don't know what its worth. The work was supposedly done by a Sig armorer. Polished the feed ramp on the frame and throat job. Polished...
Does anyone have a link to a decent gunsmith that shows what they charge? Or if anyone can just give me a ball park. I'm looking at buying a Sig TacOps 1911 with some custom work done to it and I don't know what its worth. The work was supposedly done by a Sig armorer. Polished the feed...
