Bump for this thread. I tried ordering some off the website listed above. They emailed me today saying they had oversold BR-2s and couldn't fill my order. So still looking...
Have you ever used them before? I've never heard of them but they at least take credit cards and there is a storefront with the same name and logo in the area.
I have shipped ammo before but you may be correct about primers being a whole other level of HAZMAT. I updated the original post as I have shipped HAZMAT before but I canceled that account.
I have a healthy amount of CCI BR-4 primers and am looking to trade them for some CCI BR-2 primers. I'm located in the Houston area for face to face but willing to travel some. Scratch the shipping, I just remembered I canceled my UPS account.
There is no cheek weld. At best you can put the bottom of your jaw on top of your stock (hence the earlier jaw weld comments). This is less than ideal as your head isn't really locked in and can wobble around as you now have hard against hard (bone on stock) instead of soft against hard...
A lot of good info has been posted here so I won't go over it again. What I will add is I have used ACOGs and Elcans quite a bit as we had them in the military and I was responsible for the guns and optics for multiple SF teams. I think in my career I saw 2 ACOGs break and 1 had been run...
I was able to get an 8 lb-er of 4350, thanks. Had to do the check back game a bit, got it in the cart, then the site said 4350 was out of stock and there was an error in my cart so I didn't bother to check out. Gave it a few minutes and refreshed and the error message went away. Maybe...
My vote for the OP's question would be to go for the 8" barrel. While the 5" would definitely do subsonic, the 8" would give you the added option of decent performance with supersonic rounds if you decide to use them. The gas system on the 8" would be less finicky, and the 300BO loses less...
By Blazer "brass" do you mean Blazer aluminum? Blazer also prescribes to the cheap as possible philosophy so even their brass offerings will still use the cheapest, dirtiest powders available to make a profit. Either way, no I don't shoot that crap either.
Steel case is often made with the express purpose of being the cheapest shit available. Expect more fouling from whatever cheap powder they put in there. It also tends to not expand and seal to the chamber as well as brass so more residue gets everywhere in the gun. I personally won't use it...
There is an open flash hole going from the primer pocket into the case so the pressure pushing outwards in the primer pocket will be the same PSI as that in the case. The primer isn't strong enough to contain much pressure so it mostly falls on the case head and bolt face. Cratering and...
For an AR pistol like the OP said you are fine with a 10.5" setup for .223/5.56mm. If we were talking about SBRs though I would recommend the 12.5". We ran 10.3" Daniel Defense uppers in my old unit. The velocity loss was substantial. Muzzle flash unless you used a suppressor was a major...
Nice! I bought 2 in cosmoline about 30 years ago. Sadly, I sold one about 11 years ago when money was tight (luckily to an English man who could appreciate it in a deeper level). I kept my Irish-contract Enfield though and will keep that one for a loooong time further.
I would double check that your cases are not too long giving you a pinched projectile. You could also have a brass donut forming at your neck-shoulder junction after this many firings. How do you clean your brass? When I was using walnut media, I noticed my velocities and pressures would...
My guess would be that since you are at the minimum twist rate and a bit slow on velocity, your projos are unstable but not tumbling. This is making them yaw and impact at angles but they aren't outright flipping all over the place and deflecting randomly which would result in the massive...
I have both but haven't used the MS in years. My MS is a V1 or V2 and I'm just not a fan of having to swap spacers, have POI changes, have the mount loosen even when I tighten to the point of worrying about breaking, and then go through the process again on my next rifle. Suppressors and...
