    DIY Scope Zero Stop

This has been done before but I haven't seen it posted here. I have a few Leupold MK IV's and decided to put some zero stops on the elevation turrets. There are several ways of doing this and I just decided to turn some shims out of aluminum...

    Extended bolt handle for CZ455?

It requires more work on my part. There is a void where the thread tenon should be. One of the handles in my picture above was one wit the hole in it.

    Extended bolt handle for CZ455?

Been out of pocket for about 10 months now. Going to resume CZ conversions on a limited basis. Yes I have been told about the Glades Armory handle having less scope clearance than the factory. CZ has addressed the clearance problem with reshaping the current bolt handle though it has the hole in...

Remington SPS 300 Blackout – Worth Having?

Started out a few years ago with a 8" AR SBR in 300BO with shooting strickly subs suppressed in mind. It worked out perfectly and is presently tore down for some Cerakoting. After that I had intentions of building a bolt rifle in the blackout but eventually found a M700 that was too good to pass...

Gunsmithing Muzzle brake on small dia barrel

There is no doubt that it can be done. Lex Webernick of RiflesInc builds some very lightweight rifles up to and including .375 cal. with pencil thin barrels that have MB's installed. There is more than one way to skin a cat. Sounds as if the Harrells is a good option being it's readily available.

Gunsmithing Muzzle brake on small dia barrel

I am far from a expert but here are my thoughts without a lot of thinking this morning........... It's best to have a shoulder for the brake to mate with which actually aligns it. Since the barrel is .506" that would rule out 1/2x28tpi. The next somewhat standard size would be 7/16x28tpi...

    boydes stock on savage

This is a factory Savage laminate which most likely is made by Boyd's . It was ok but now much better after I made and installed my own adjustable hardware. Not real hip with laminates but it is growing on me. Can't say what style this one is called.

Rifle Camo, why? (Can of worms)

It's really what a person likes or dislikes............. some like fords and some chevys while others prefer dodge. I love plain vanilla ice cream while strawberry does nothing for me. I like digital so I have done a few of mine in that theme. Some wont like it but I could give a...

    A CZ 455 Shorty.......pics inside

I machined two areas so I would not have to mess with the taper and yet center the tube over the barrel. One in front of the chamber tennon, (cut just a few thousandths off to get a parallel surface) and the other just behind the muzzle threads. Made a couple of aluminum bosses that fit snuggly...

    A CZ 455 Shorty.......pics inside

Though the actual barrel is short, being that the shroud is pinned and welded and is not removable this combination is not an NFA item due to the overall length being over 16 inches.

gun stock painting with 2 parts epoxy?

Duracoat is hard to beat just for the shear colors it comes in and it's pretty durable too. Here is my turkey gun I did with it. ....and another digital I call the green monster.

    A CZ 455 Shorty.......pics inside

I had the factory American 22 lr barrel left over from my build and decided to do a little tinkering yesterday. Cut the barrel down to 9ish inches threaded and gave it a new crown. Made up an aluminum 16.1" long shroud and installed it permanently over the barrel. The AAC Prodigy fits in...

    Chainsaw brand??

I had heard the word Stihl associated with the best chainsaws all my life. With that in mind I went the a dealer 10 years ago with the idea of purchasing 3 saws. Was greeted by a sales person and stated I wanted the best chainsaws they had and money was no object. When he passed over the Stihl...

    Gunsmithing First Muzle brake.

How did you indicate the barrel using a 3 jaw chuck and why not single point thread? Bores are rarely concentric with the barrel's OD.

    Gunsmithing Stock Finish/Coating Recommendations?

I use mostly Duracoat on my stocks as the color selection is a vast one. I recently did my CZ 455 build in a urban/ navy digital using Duracoat. It's actually pretty easy work, though the prep work sucks.

    Top 10/22 builders

I am not into souped up 10/22's but do own one though it's acts as a suppressor host plinker. With that said I am always hearing good things about Kidd builds and parts. It's ashame because he's not but a few miles from me.

How do you make a CZ 455 better?

OP, what are your expectations? Sounds like you are on the right track with the basics . 1)A nice light trigger will little to no creep will help with that. 2)Having a nice solid platform with bedding and possibly pillars will also help with consistent torque values as compression and...

Gunsmithing Separated case stuck in AX.

Usually flash cooling/freezing of the case works great. This can be done with Co2 or Freon with a hose inserted into the chamber. Different expansion rates between the barrel and the case releases the grip and the case taps out with the conventional cleaning rod trick.

I have another question regarding optmal scope magification for 200 yard shooting.

I run a USO SN-3 on my CZ 455 and am happy with it's performance for what the rifle was built for. It along with a 25moa base gets me to 400 yards with subsonics without any hold overs. It's not a BR rifle, it's just a trainer/plinker Any power scope will work dependent on what size targets...
