Correct me if I am wrong here. Isn't the 6mm Creedmoor to 6.5 Creedmoor as .243 Win is to 260 Rem? So really this thread is a .243 vs .264 debate and a Creedmoor vs 308 Win case debate? I went with 260 in a bolt gun for my purposes. I don't think I could have gone wrong with 6.5 Creedmoor...
Re: First shot precision? Go shoot it. I shot a 1" 3 shot group at 200 yards with first shot cold the other day. You need to figure out what it will do. You can't ask someone else what it is capable of.
Re: 308 or 338???? What are your performance requirements? Are you going to shoot this from a bench at 300 yards or are you going to get past 1000y? If you reload, I recommend something different than either if your answer is that you aren't going to be shooting over 1000y much and never...
Re: Most accurate uppers for the money? I have had good luck with my Larue 18" Stealth. It shoots better than I can shoot it given the trigger the gun has in it. It really deserves a better trigger.
Re: 308 hunting questions on deer... Do you have a rangefinder that will go as far as you intend to shoot? I know this has limited my ability in the past.
Re: Coyote rifle needed I can't see this being to terribly difficult of a question. The answer really is "whatever you want" I have shot them with my 18" Recce, my SPSTactical, and and working on it with my 260. For a dedicated calling gun, 22-250 or 243 is probably the best. Just buy a...
Re: First pistol You can't go wrong with either. Check em out at the gun counter. See how well they "point" for you. Pick an object, close your eyes, pull the gun up, and open your eyes. See how close the sights are lining up to your target. Try the triggers, see which is more ideal...
Re: Glock 34 & Glock 17 Get the long one. I carry my G20L often IWB. It is a half in longer than the 34/35. It would be a breeze if it were a half inch shorter.
Re: 260rem vs 7-08 for young shooter and hunter The accutrigger is better than any of the factory Remington triggers I have used. I sold my .308 after the luck Ive had with .260 Rem. Its flatter and better in the wind than .308. I can't really think of anything .308 does better except...
