Re: My first setup! Pic intense! Nice set up. Have a buddy at work looking to set up his first long range boom stick. I'll show him this thread for some ideas.
Re: tacti-cool watches any one ? I have one of these Summit watches It's supposed to have all of these options.... The temperature even when not worn is atleast 8-10deg too high, the compass after turning the watch around 180deg has to recalibrate itself, have'nt played with the alti or...
Re: Savage 17HMR shot like SHIT yesterday... What are you using to rest your rifle on? Rest or are you using a bipod? Yeah some .17hmr's are very picky. My Savage likes Hornady 17gn and 20gn, Federal and sometimes Remington. If you have shot alot of rounds through your rifle, I'd also check...
Re: Re-lining a Barrel Congrats! My wife is due in March with our first! If the barrel is removable, it might just be easier to find another Model 67 barrel or another rifle you can use for parts.
Re: Tattoos-Post that ink Nice! I miss the feeling of getting inked!! Your back is looking real nice. I've meet Big Gus before at a tattoo convension years back, his black and grey tattooing is some of the best.
Re: replacement bolt for a howa 1500 How long has it been since he said your bolt was mailed back to you? Prob just have to deal with the wait... Howa replacement bolts are hard to find, maybe try keeping an eye out on gunbroker, maybe one will pop up... Either that or find a used Howa for...
Re: Howa AICS If you can't find one or just depending when they come out, try a B&C stock if available in your country. It's not a folder but easy to fit the action into, helps with recoil a bit, and they are nice stocks for the price. I have one for my Howa 1500 .308win
Re: Which scope for a Savage 17 HMR? I use a Mueller APV scope on my bull barreled Savage .17hmr and for my standard barreled Savage .17hmr I mounted a Nikko Sterrling scope with fine cross hair reticle. The Mueller has real clear glass and is a great scope for the cost. The Nikko Sterrling...
Re: bsa sweet 17 Mounted a Sweet 22 scope on my fiancee's Ruger 10/22, she likes it so I figure not worth the time to play around with the different knobs. I mounted a Mueller APV scope on one of my .17hmr's and a Nikko Sterrling on the other.
Re: Marlin 925 Range Report Nice! Have the same rifle. I mounted a Nikko Sterling scope on mine, did a quick 25 yard zero. At 25 yards I was getting a 1/2" to 3/4" group using Winchester and Federal bulk pack ammo. After the initial zero I have not shot it since. Very surprised these rifles...
Re: Bolt or semi auto for a new shooter? As the other members have suggested, def go with a bolt, just because it's easier to teach with. Maybe try the Henry Youth Model? http://www.henryrepeating.com/h005_minibolt.cfm
Re: What are your thoughts? I use the Bushnell 10x on my Ruger. It all depends on what kind of shooting you want to use the rifle for. If you use your rifle for plinking/varmiting, you would be better off with variable power scope. The 10x works good for 100 yards but closer than that it's...
