I am lost here, you numbers are way, too broad. BTW, .2 is finer then .5 The goal of any competent user of a MIL reticle for ranging is down to .05 mil. that's as fine as one can go. you can not visually see any more detail then .05MIL. With a tolerance of .05MIL Between 500-700yards caliber...
Good point, That's the whole idea behind a duplex reticle. Use the bolder edges to center up the sight picture in low light/ low magnification use. Some designs keep this element
I think end users need to understand what is useful. At 6x and under, why even try to hold / range? It's not really practical. Most will point to the 3.5x/4x ACOG as a example of low magnification and BDC that works. Well, the ACOG does this with a very tight FOV. Back to my first post and...
Here is the deal, riflescope reticles are 100% related to the optic's field of view. As a quick example: Stadia of .1 MIL FOV of 100 inches at 100yds The reticle stadia will cover up 0.036% of the visual plane. Stadia of .1 MIL FOV of 50 inches at 100yds The reticle stadia will cover up...
I was and still am proud of the A5 reticle I did for the IOR in 2006-07 that you bring up. I think the first question is the power range, is this for a 3x, 4x, 5x? Once we understand that, then the stadia should drive the design.
Got your thinking cap on? If not go get it. This is how you do range math Check it out. There is 91.44 meters to every 100 yards. So if I wanted to do the math in my head its simple. I take the 9 from...
I have run the race on pistols. SA, DA, DAO, striker. You know what i found out? The weight of the pistol is directly related to how well i shoot it. A typical DA or SA metal frame i shoot better then a plastic fantastic gun. But i CCH a G19 lol
Hider's, I know the idea of running a PDW | Sub-Gun is not the typical class found here on the hide, but its a relevant topic as a back up gun for duty use of a SWS. I am starting a new company that focuses on teaching these classes. My website is www.boyettesolutions.com I have four classes...
your point is well taken and true. Try this for your next day of testing. Do 10 single round shots on 10 dots. Measure how close to center each shot is. give your self a 30 sec window between shot. That will be a better test for precision from point of aim. John
is the gas block adjustable? if so open it up. Are you shooting with a suppressor? If none of that helps you might need to turn in the gun and open up the gas port a touch.
When a customer orders a barrel from us at T-Box Barrels all barrels come with a properly measured MPI 9310 Salt Bath Nitride bolt. Headspacing is the basic measurement that is needed for safe operation and chambering of any firearm with ammunition.. It does not lead to accuracy or any other...
for what you are wanting to do I would buy the DPMS as is and add the Burris 1-8x. Once you want to tighten up on the groups order one of our .308 1/8 twist 16" mid gas barrels and gain tighter groups, and still keep the range out to 800+ yards.
