    SAKO TRG22 .308 - Ammonition

Stefano - my reference ammo was Black Hills match 175 SMK. With handloads 43.5 gr of Varget, 175 SMK, loaded to mag length, I won two local benchrest matches (just playing) with sub 1/4-MOA groups at 300 yards. For longer ranges I loaded 185 Berger LRBT's with 48 gr of RL-17 achieving about 2730...

    Sako TRG-22 trigger assembly

While doing some work on my TRG a pin fell out of the trigger group and parts went everywhere. Does anyone have a diagram or instructions for how to assemble the trigger group internals? Thanks.

    F T/R Competition Berger 185 BTTLR and RL-17 for 600/1000 FTR

Re: Berger 185 BTTLR and RL-17 for 600/1000 FTR I am running 48.0gr of RL-17 with Berger 185 Juggernaut bullets. COAL 2.920" to fit my mag. 2730fps from a 26" barrel. This is still a mild load, but gave the best accuracy in my rifle. I was concerned about temperature dependence but my test of...

Tikka T3 .223 load data? Any suggestions?

Re: Tikka T3 .223 load data? Any suggestions? In my Tikka T3 Varmint I compared the following 77SMK loads with OAL 2.260" (mag length, 0.090" jump to the lands). All consistently had vertical spread less than .5MOA with a slight edge to 8208 XBR (.4MOA average vertical for 5 5-shot groups at...

Range Report Let's talk about dispersion...

Re: Let's talk about dispersion... To unambiguously demonstrate this effect one would have to simultaneous shoot the 100 yard and 200 yard targets. One target in front of the other (corrected for drop), same bullets through both targets.

357sig vs 9mm bullets? Is there a difference?

Re: 357sig vs 9mm bullets? Is there a difference? The same bullets are intended for 9mm Parabellum and 357 Sig. But I've found that truncated cone or HP works best for 357. Some round nose bullets don't have enough straight bearing surface to seat properly in the short 357 case neck.

Range Report Made to order ballistics program

Re: Made to order ballistics program I think it would be really great if some guru simply ported Bryan Litz's program to Windows Mobile. The problem is lack of Java-support in Windows in general, because Sun and Microsoft can't play well together. The program is free on-line at...

Range Report Flatter shooting vs windage effects

Re: Flatter shooting vs windage effects Let the numbers decide. Using Bryan's free ballistic program and his G7 b.c.'s with velocities I actually obtain for handloads, at 1000 yard range for southern NM conditions: Berger 155.5gr fullbore 2850fps G7=.237 drop 305in dh/dR 8.5in/10yd drift...

    .308 Heaviest Bullet

Re: .308 Heaviest Bullet On paper it looks like the 210gr SMK or equivalent is the way to go for 308 caliber at 1000 yards. Using Bryan's program for my altitude of 4250ft, and keeping the muzzle energy roughly constant gives the following 10 mph wind drift values at 1000 yards: 210SMK...
