    Night Vision PVS14 vs RNVG

I see Im in the minority here but with a few hundred hours under anvis I dont think the depth perception under duals is that much better. It is some better, but not double. Perhaps with panos but I havent used those. If you have other priorities unfulfilled, like thermal or a clip on, Id use...

    Night Vision PVS-27 mount question

Ok Ill check out the KMW for the bolt gun...I actually left a message with him just a bit ago. For the 6.5 semi-auto with rail I figured I should be able to direct mount the 27...just wondering if my current scope mount will provide the proper alignment. Dont have the 27 in hand until next week.

    Night Vision PVS-27 mount question

Hello all, I apologize in advance as I’m sure this has been asked before but the search function wasnt leading me to the answer, for some reason the links to the threads didnt work on the search results. I need to mount a PVS-27 on a semi-auto 6.5cm (falkor defense omega) and a bolt gun with...

Range Report Selier & Bellot 6.5 CM seems okay to me. At least, for this rifle.

Try Hornady American Gunner 140gr. Easily sub moa in my rifle in multiple groups and at .80/rd hard to beat. In a large enough sample you will start to see ES creep up but according to my labradar I have recorded ES of at least 30-40 in every match factory loading out there except prime...havent...

    Gunsmithing Robert Gradous

I hate to hear this. I will treasure the memories of picking up rifles from his shop, staying at the cabin and fishing in the pond. What a gracious, generous, and above all humble man who was a master at his craft. The entire community is diminished by his loss.

    Rank .308 Brass Brands

Interesting. I could not get measurable runout...as in zero runout...on Nosler custom 7RM brass. I dont reload much 308 anymore, but when I did I was reloading FGMM brass and it was great. Havent tried the nosler 308.

    Kestrel 5700 Elite Windage

Not sure why you would think the wind is highest at the shooter position. I dont see a correlation with that at all. I shoot almost exclusively in the field and almost never at prepared ranges/facilities. Across fields, treelines, valleys, hills, etc. There is no reason to assume the wind is...

    Kestrel 5700 Elite Windage

I dont apply wind the way you describe. But I think the kestrel is extremely useful for training the wind. I look at conditions near me...the grass, the bushes, the trees, the feel of it, and make wind call then look at the kestrel to test how I did. Then you start to get a feel, in your AO at...

    Kestrel 5700 Elite Windage

Seems like left twist barrels should have been standard in the northern hemisphere but I guess when these things got established such offsets werent even on their radar. So are you saying that these solvers are doubling the spin drift correction intentionally to help offset all the shooter...

    Kestrel 5700 Elite Windage

You should probably do more reading of my post before replying. I literally said you should include it IF it is accurate, and mentioned that calculators seem to ovecorrect for it. Frankly I think they overcorrect a little for wind as well but thats another subject. My point stands...there are...

    Kestrel 5700 Elite Windage

This isnt a valid reason to leave it off. Now if you gave evidence that spin drift correction as calculated is in error, and some people think ballistic calculators over correct for SD, then that would be a reason to leave it off. Tolerance stacking is a thing. If you leave out known sources...

    Cracked Spuhr mount

This. I learned this the hard way working on diesel engines/turbos. To get the same tension on a bolt you need less torque w lubed threads than without. I assume this will vary with the type of lube. Typical reduction seems to be 25-30% for lubed threads vs dry. See here...
