T3X CTR barrel, medium contour good for matches?

I ran the 24" CTR at matches, 10-12 stages w/ 10 shot in 2 minute strings, usually 20-30 mins between stages, I had no issues w/ the gun's performance. Like others said, you'll be fine.

“New” Remington 700 showing up in your ao, or just retreads?

From what i understand judging by their website and the few articles that came out last fall, WRT the traditional 700, it will still be made, same specs, just more attention to QA/QC and machining so anticipating a better product. These new 700s made since the new owner under RemArms have the...

    Rem 700P query

There are two date codes present, AO and CT. I thought i read somewhere that if two codes are present then first, AO was manufacture date, and the second was when the rifle was sent back to Remington for something.

Remington700P .223 missing Manufacture date stamp on barrel

between 1999 and 2001 Remington stopped stamping barrel codes. If the serial number on your action is a D, E, F, or G prefix then you probably got one of those. Not to worry, those years a good and i would suspect you got a shooter.

    Opinions on Ruger Predator

I owned one. It was easily a 3/4 MOA gun, even down to 1/2 MOA. I didn't replace anything, totally stock running Hornady match ammo. There are tons of people who have seen the same results so i think its safe to say these have been pretty consistently accurate rifles.

    Factory bolt action rifle

OP, everyone is making great suggestions, and as you see there are a lot of ways to stretch your dollar, but i think if you want to buy something that is totally ready to go and meets all you specs it's the Tikka T3x UPR. No need to get a new stock, it's an improvement over their plastic CTR...

    Factory bolt action rifle

The most hassle free choice that really would not require any extra upgrasdes would be either the Tikka T3x UPR, it comes with the sturdier stock and it's still light enough to carry while hunting, or the Bergara HMR, either the B14 or the Pro version. I've a Tikka t3x CTR and i think the...

    Considering a Tikka T3x CTR in .223

just measured it. 2 9/16" or 2.5625" from end to end, so less than 2.5625" would fit

Hunting & Fishing Varmit bullets and whitetails?

I think that makes a difference. I just didn't see the same kind of performance on deer at 350 yds.

Hunting & Fishing Varmit bullets and whitetails?

I've shot 3 whitetails that weighed about 125-150 punds field dressed at 350 yds using a 22-250 w/ 50gr ballistic tips going 3800fps mv. All 3 deer ran 50 to 100 yds with well placed shots to the lungs and none had a noticeable blood trail. I wouldn't use varmint bullets again. Also, how big are...

    Federal .308 168gr vs 175gr accuracy?

The 168s were developed for 300m competitions and their design causes them to lose stability/tumble when going transonic and subsonic. As a result, the 175 smk was developed to be stable thru transonic to subsonic velocities. I've never seen much difference in grouping between either round...
