Re: AR15 failure to fire Sounds like it's either short stroking or an issue with the sear being worn down. Try some heavy loads and if that doesn't do it take a hard look at the contact points on the trigger.
Re: military security clearance I've seen it as 50/50 somedays I'm in and out within 30 minutes others it'll take a day or so. More so than anything I believe it'll hold you back more than benefit you.
Re: absolutely insane workout...you will be amazed!! I don't know anyone with a job that chooses a kids playground to workout... On the other hand a bunch of shirtless guys spending sunday on a playground... Probably just blowing off some steam before a long week on wall street
Re: 3 Week EMT course Quite a few junior colleges offer a 3 week EMT-B. If you have more time on your hands the local EMS or FD usually run classes for little to no money out of pocket. West Virginia for instance covers all course/testing fees if more than 15 people take the class. Just...
Re: benchmade or microtech? I'd say the benchmade. I started with them because of the active duty discounts with promotive.com and stayed with them because I've never had an issue. I mean gunked up with oil and sand(my fault)they still open everytime without failure and to me that makes it...
Re: Remington 700 Replacement triggers It's all about feel. For me, I love rifle basix... it just feels right. My advice is to get some trigger time in on as many as you can, then choose what feels best.
Re: Good rifled slug gun recommendation? find an old 870 and throw a hastings rifled barrel on it. I've owned two and both could touch rounds at 50yrds
Re: New barrel input for .308 and 208gr Amax In that case I've had pretty good luck with shilen select match drop-in barrels. I'd say a 1-10 finished at 24" will give you a little more play than what you have and stabilize the 208
Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?! Mine likes the idea of shooting, but once we get out there it's a lot of cursing and woo is me's(kinda like a tv MA rated Eeyore)
Re: New barrel input for .308 and 208gr Amax Shoot what you have. The 208 a-max is not the holy grail. I've seen everything from 155gr to 190gr make it out to 1k. Just find a load your gun loves and shoot the hell out of it.
Re: Your wife At this point in life I have enough toys that if I need another I'll just sell something. Only time it bit me in the behind was selling her kayak to recoup funds from a scope purchase.
Re: Will new scope rings and mounts effect my bdc recticle bdc isn't based on what the scope is placed in. As long as you have your zero then your bdc should be accurate assuming it was accurate before
Re: My brother-n-law serving abroad. rifles issued have more to due with unit mission/need than whats the latest and greatest. Anyway back on track... Tell him thanks and we'll keep him in our prayers
Re: Gun Safe and the Wife... My wife and I went will the living room... does is look good? no, but it is functional. I have a place to put my gym shoes and keys. She has a place to put more candles and flowers. Have you tried telling her that it'll be 4'x4' of shelf space
Re: Turret presses - RCBS v Lee Classic Lee is good as long as it's taken care of. take it slow, lube components well and all should be good. Biggest issue I had was moving to quick and having primers not seat right.
