Hey guys, I picked up a rifle recently in a LSS-xl chassis but didn't include a stock. It's the carbine version that accepts AR15 pattern stocks with a carbine like buffer tube. MDT obviously has good options of their own flavor, just wondering if anyone has used something different and liked...
Re: 6.5 Grendel and CCI 400 primers not compatible? I've been using CCI400's exclusively so far. I don't have the hard seating issues you're having though.
Re: AR-50 Bullet Seating and Bullet Jump Distance Yep that's pretty much normal. Out of my AR50 I've shown some promise (sub MOA at 200yds) with both 220gr of H50 and 226gr of H50 and the amax bullets. Still needs some tuning though. I've been seating at 5.75" OAL as a starting point...
Re: A couple more machinist questions 375 according to redline. If I were you I'd junk the HSS and go on Ebay and pick up some carbides. GW Schultz usually has a bunch of extras for cheap there.
Re: Machinist question I use a handy dandy little equation. 3.82 x SFM / D = RPM where: SFM is surface feed (taken from about any tool catalog based on the tool type and material, redline tools has a good one I use a lot) D is diameter of the tool.

Re: 6.5 Grendel Mag? When comparing my mags I found the feed lips on my GI surplus type mags to stick out quite a bit more than the ones on my C-products grendel mags. I can load the grendel ammo in the 5.56 mags just fine though. Comparing C-products 5.56 mags to the grendel mags there...
Re: Date of Production Just call remington with your serial number off the receiver. They have an automated menu just for such things and its free. Takes all of 5 minutes and they'll do multiple guns if you want. I've found the barrel dating can be wrong.
Re: Grizzly Mills? I wouldn't be terribly concerned with rust. If you live in a wintery area buy one of those mats to park on that doesn't let the road crap flow everywhere when in melts off the car. Other than that, you're gonna be keeping the ways and such well oiled anyway, plus the oil...
Re: Grizzly Mills? I agree. They're still heavy. I used a big ole johnson bar and set the mill on pipes to act as rollers to get it moved out of the guys garage I bought it from and into mine. What is your concern about having it in the garage? Hot and cold, or your wife not knowing where...
Re: Grizzly Mills? I've got a Grizzly similar to that. Slightly bigger I believe. They work for hobby type machining and quick repairs. I use mine for everything from pulling bullets to valve grinding. A big downside is the belt drive. It has enough power but changing speeds sucks. I...
Re: winchester primers for ar-15? CCI's seem to be the preferred primer for AR's. I can't make them shoot worth a crap but some guys seems to have good luck with them.
Re: Full length or neck? With only doing neck sizing brass life will be significantly increased. Only downside is that you should only fire neck sized brass out of the same gun. As for accuracy, I don't know that it matters as long as its consistent. I know a lot of competition 50 bmg...
